Some 7mt experiences are worse than others. 22 Black Diamond 2-dr 7mt, replaced the transmission at 37k because of the noise. Noise was noticeable when colder. 2nd transmission is noisy now after 38k on it. Sounds better now that it's warm, but at times sounds "sloppy" in there, but not like the tumbling rocks. Usually in gears 1-3. I'll go the summer and have it checked out this coming winter. I do have Fords extended warranty.

I leave next week on a 3-week overlanding trip out west. I'm trusting it will get me out and back.

I don't get it, though. No one has to compete with @604Bronco for posting the most messages. But everyone has something to contribute.
They can ask least ask what size tires without a lift, what octane, how long between oil changes, and what color pony duck they should leave on someone else's property.

Three transmissions and a lot of headache; It's time to sell my 2022 Black Diamond with a manual transmission.
I was so excited to buy a Bronco when Ford brought it back. I put my money down and wanted 15 months for delivery. A soft top, manual transmission, Eruption Green..I couldn't be happier.
I took delivery and right away there were problems. The temporary tags were taped to the soft top and warped the plastic. The front fender well and tires had some kind of paint overspray on them. The dealer was gracious and fixed the problems.
I was appreciative and moved on. About 12k in, the transmission sounded like a box of rocks. Six weeks later a new one was put in.
Six months later, same sound. The dealer rebuilds the transmission. That took three weeks.
At 50k, the transmission went again and was replaced. This time they got it fixed in a week.
The whole time, my dealer was accommodating. They seemed embarrassed more than anything.
I asked if the latest transmission might be a new and improved model so I could decide if I wanted to keep going with the Bronco. They simply could not confirm.
I decided to let go.
Ford, I am completely disappointed. Your company has built cars for over 100 years and still puts out substandard products. I thought you would knock it out of the park with the new Bronco. A great namesake in automotive lore, but nope, you dropped the ball.
Im sure many of you are having a great experience, I love seeing the modifications and pride of ownership. Unfortunately, I didn't get that.
Best of luck, I'm moving on from the Bronco and anything Ford.
It is concerning,to say the least. I have to take mine for a brake issue (pedal getting soft at stops and if I'm not careful, it creeps forward). I am a Ford guy but it's worrisome.

Are you still wondering what the pedal on the left is for???

Although I love and am obsessed with my 2022 2-door Area 51 cloth interior Outerbanks (now a unicorn!), I don't think its fair for folks to pile on to this guy who had a bad experience with his personal Bronco - especally since like a lot of us he waited months or years to get his. The fact is that Ford should fight to retain EVERY customer and work a lot harder at quality control and customer experience. It's not okay to just say well this guy's butt-hurt and too bad for him (or her). Think about it: the more satisfied Bronco owners there are, the better for the long-term survival of the brand. And that's better for everyone on the Forum.

And by the way, it's completely fair to complain about the build and motor quality of the Bronco. The rigs are not cheap. Compared to the fit and finish of most other brands' comparable SUV offerings that are often used in head-to-head comparisons (Landcruiser, Defender, etc.) the Bronco is way behind. Yes, there are all the excuses: it's a convertible, it's a purpose-built off-roader, it's not meant for everyone, and all that, but it's no excuse for poor corporate execution on what should be one of Ford's top aspirational product. It's not enough to just compete with other rattletraps like Jeep because the goal is to get folks out of their pricey G-Wagons or Range Rover Sports (or whatever rig you want to compare it to) and into the MUCH funner and less expensive Broncos.

It is well documented that Getrag transmissions are noisy. IF that inherited noise bothers someone, that someone should buy something that doesn't come with that noise (an automatic perhaps?). Changing it THREE times because they are all noisy, is borderline moronic. Broncos are noisy, period. Softops, hardtops, SAS tires, squeaks, rattles....nothing but noise. If one wants a quiet off roader, one should look to spend a little more money on a Range Rover, or G-Wagon (I had both of those, and they are QUIET). However,....despite the noise, Bronco makes me smile, and I don't have to think about fixing the air suspension and getting speeding tickets (Bronco is SO noisy, that it seems like it's going FAST, and it's barely keeping the speed limit. The two I mentioned above gave me MANY tickets, because I was always 20-30 mph above the speed limit).

You guys should be proud of me. I went down that old rabbit hole for hours after the first time I checked my oil and I never made a new thread about it. 🙂

By the way, Ford is STILL overfilling at the factory in 2025. Checked 15 minutes after shut down in my garage the day after I brought it home and I almost had a litter of kittens when I saw the level.

Maybe they do that for a reason, who knows. They typically don’t waste anything for no reason 🤷‍♂️

I wonder how did you get a tom cat to perform? That's some accomplishment on its own. Mine won't even come when I call him, much less doing THAT.
