Summer is coming. Has anybody experienced summer without tinting the front windows, or is it just crazy to not do it?

No tint, no problem for me. But, I also live in Michigan and the sun, even in the summer time isn’t set to hell like settings like out west or down in your neck of the woods. I would think if you are baking in your front seat a tint might help.

I suggest you get it for the reason it will help with the heat and protect your interior. You can get it as light as you wish, they sell all shades of tint.

I'm in Arizona. I had my dealer tint the front side windows as dark as legally allowed (35%), and the cap to 20%. Kind of wish I went 15% on the cap.

Tinting the actual windscreen is illegal here

True it is illegal on the front windshield everywhere, but you can put a visor on the top up to 6" here in AZ. Alot of shops will tint the entire windshield in 70% if you want to take the risk.

Yeah, and you can do a heat rejection film which is normally about 93% or so and get away with it. I might do that. Holding off until I know how often I need to replace the windshield. AZ is made of rocks after all.

I got a UV block on my windshield and it makes a HUGE difference.

Yes, I experienced the Texas summer without tinted windows in my first car and one summer in the bronco. I will never put myself or my vehicles through that again.

Since the tint costs money, I'd recommend putting something like this on, or if you break the windshield, you'll be paying even more to replace than just the $1k or so for the windshield:

My friend has 70% on his windshield. You can barely tell it is there from the outside, the chances are really low IMO of any cop noticing. Even a film that isn't very dark like that makes a really big difference in keeping the interior of the car cooler.
