I hear ya..I wonder how much they come apart? Could they be sprayed? I see hardware in pictures but cat tell if they are rivets or bolts.

They snap out of the dash, and just pull off the vent tab.

The handles come apart into 2 pieces (grab part and dash surround part) with two small torx/star screws in the back (at the seams I circled in the pic). The actual part you grab is always black, but comes with either a gray, orange, blue, green (everglades), white or red (ford performance, I think) stripe. The outer portion of the handle is either gray, black or roast depending on model/interior choice. I swapped out my 3 blue handles for gray, but had to reuse the existing gray outer portion to match my Black Diamond dash.
