Upgraded Rack + Procal Question

Does the severe duty rack require the Procal rack tune to work? Will it throw any errors without the rack tune installed (not the performance tune)?

Asking because dealer wiped performance tune during a maintenance visit and not sure if rack and performance tune need to be installed or just performance. No errors being see currently but want to be sure.

Nope, totally separate. They’re not related in any way.

The Procal is just the software delivery tool for both.

Thanks for the reply. I know they are separate but I am wondering if the rack tune needs to be reinstalled as well? I'm not getting any errors but I just want to be sure it wasn't also wiped by the dealer and I'm just not aware. Not sure how to confirm.

Once the rack is programmed you are good. I don’t know that you can uninstall a rack tune once it’s in - just overwrite it

You would know if it weren’t - you’d have no power steering at all
