If you go a little larger I can guarantee you can have "big rub" you are asking about

285/70R17 fits on any model with +55 offset, I would think the 295/70R17 would clear ok. I wouldnāt bother with 295/70R17 over 285/70, no good C rated tire choices in 295/70.
Yeah - I have E rated 295/70R17 Duratracs on my JK and would go back to D rated 285/70s the next time if I was keeping it. Noticeable difference in ride and SFA directional control.
