I suppose if a car sits every day in the hot sun it will have an effect.

I can’t really defend the manufacturer claims since I don’t have any first hand experience. I can only go by what they advertise and what I’ve seen with customer cars.

I shall see in 8-10 years if I still have the Bronco.

Given that amount of time I would imagine there would be minimally some paint correction and cleaning up that needs to be performed, but I would hope it’s better than a car with road rash all over the front and side of it.



The manufactures states it should be on the paint longer than 10 years, so I guess the expectation is it should come off.

For sure, everything has pros and cons at the end of the day.

Is it still removable after 10 years? I've heard that you can't remove them after 5 or so. I'm a novice when it comes to these films. I did my door sills myself with a 3M product.

No PPF shop with integrity will guarantee PPF removal that does not rip paint off....this is a real risk. If parked indoors all the time will probably never need to remove unless road grit blasted damage which does occur over time.

I spoke with our installer about this yesterday as they’ve removed a lot of old PPF.

He said that they’ve never had paint peel on a car with factory paint. However there’s a very good chance that some paint lift will occur if a panel has been repainted.

They even put a warning on the work order that paint damage can occur when removing the film if they are installing film on a repainted panel and they have the customer sign it acknowledging the risk.

I have a few friends that do wrap services, they generally advertise in the $3k-$6k range depending on the vehicle and the wrap material/grade.

With that said, as much as I can respect the workmanship and skill required to do it, I will never be a proponent of wrapping.

I paid $5,200 for full stealth PPF on a 2 door including the factory painted roof.

You are not getting a quality paint job for $5K unless you go to Maaco where they’ll paint over everything. Your grille, door handles and roof.

Bronco body panels so simple no trim at all so easy to paint -20 hrs prep time and $700 materials. Book time is much more though. I'd still rather repair than have rip off all the ppf along with some paint in 5-7 years now I'm into is for ppf plus repaint.

Cost on the Bronco is definitely going to be high because of all the plastic cladding and trim removal. Expect to pay at least $4k for quality material and install, excluding the hard top.

DIY on the doors might look easy, but trust me, getting those edges around the window frames and door handles clean is a nightmare, that’s where it peels first. If you're going to spend the money on the vinyl, spend the extra on the labor for a clean install.

Don't waste your time trying to DIY that job, especially the fenders. Just go to a pro. I recommend checking out Tinterz if you're in the FL area.
