Thanks! Do I need anything other than blue loctite and this grease?
That should be it.

Ford says to replace the bolts, but I do not think any of them are stretch bolts, so you can reuse them.

As the poster said above, the grease is optional. Personally I'd apply some.

It's assembly lube. Yours is already built, so don't worry about it!
Ok, now I see it, they tried to wipe it off but some is left. Should use blue loctite or just use as is?

I'll have some just in case.

Will be installing the 74Weld rack this weekend and was wondering about Loctite. Their install video says "loctite all the bolts" but doesn't specify anything else. Anybody know what should be loctite'd and what colors to use?
dont use red LOL. blue on everything usually. I will also add loctite on off road stuff is a must with all the vibrations, shit comes loose all the time.

Maybe I should loctite my little stubby radio antenna... lol Speaking of which, I need to tighten it AGAIN.

I will say it. That’s not good. Way to much bending from excessive cantilever length.

Yeah, I put that in there for all the people that would post, "Well I have Fabtech and I do not have any issue".

Honestly back when BB was saying he was making a solution to the tie rod issue I thought they would look like the Fabtech's but ended up being a band-aid.

Only place I put locktite is on the threads where the inner tie rod screws onto the rack bar. Blue is fine...factory doesn't use any, but I feel better using a little. Outers need to be adjusted for alignment, so none there. nuts that attach outers to knuckles are nylock, so really shouldn't need any, but feel free to use some if it makes you feel better about it. Rest of the bolts are reusable and don't really need any if tightened well, but feel free to use a dab on them...won't hurt anything. Use blue!

My only issue with the Fabtech tie rod is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

1698195824292.png

>>>>>>>>>>>> the length of their stud for the heim joint would be better if it was supported by a bracket going from the knuckle to the stud. Making it double shear. I bring you this >>>>>>>>

Now am I saying that Fabtech is junk????? NO but if pushed to the limit it will bend. I watched BB do it a year or so ago. Once the heim is maxed out it will bend the stud unless supported by a bracket.

If you don't push it, it will live. I believe you are the kind that like to push it so I thought I would give you one rednecks opinion.
who makes this bracket for double sheer?

Was helping @userdude with his rack install, got the rack in, but there's a dead spot in the steering. I am thinking that something is not right with the steering rack connection to the wheel (has anyone had that happen?). I am betting that it wasn't seated fully and as a result not tightened fully due to the rack eventually dropping into the slot.

Any thoughts from y'all? No prayers, we tried that, it didn't work.

Dead spot? Like skipping a tooth or power steering cuts out?

Check the connection by the upper a arm that they pull to do control arms.
