I got to run a pretty gnarly trail in my area last Friday called the Little Widowmaker. It’s part of Hollerwood offroad park in KY. If you go in the back way you take Sandlick a very scenic road that follows a nice stream that leads you into the backside of the park. I’ve ran this trail before years back in my jeep before they called the place Hollerwood it was all free and open to the public. It was all jeeps that came down these trails but wow all these side by sides have really dug it all out because it’s way worse than I remembered.

On this trip since I was running solo I used a wolfbox g900 with the rear view camera mounted on my front bumper to help me see below my hood line to help spot the way, it actually worked really well. Just needs to be a little more wide of camera angle but for the most part it worked out great for the trip. It was also kinda cool to have video always recording. If you want to skip to the hard stuff go to around 9 min mark. I made the video kinda long because I was trying to keep it as raw as possible and show the whole adventure. Lots of different camera angles and off road sounds that we all have came to love, like suspension noises, frame dragging and tires gripping & sliding on the rocks.

Hope you guys enjoy it I had a good time making and editing the video.

Very nice. Looks like a bit of a challenge. How long is the little widow maker portion?
Couple more question: what armor do you have underneath? And what pressure were you running?
Interested because I’d like to get up there.
Good job on the video.
Thanks

*edit, sorry I didn’t search to see if you have posted your build in another thread.

The little widowmaker is a pretty short trail. Takes about 25min to get back there from Sandlick rd. Jimmys Bend is another trail that’s close to Lil widowmaker to check out. I’m on 37” kenda klever RT was running 18 to 19 psi. I’m running oem skid plates with Barnes 4wd shock skids. Plan to get transmission skid one of these days.

Suspension mods are:
-Rear Rock Jock Links upper & lower
-Rock Jock Track Bar
-Front Rock Jock Antirock Swaybar
-Front Zone Offroad Upper Control Arms
-2.5 Fox Performance Elite Coilovers
Pic is on Sandlick Rd

Great video and technique. We all have signatures as far as line choice and technique, you're probably one of the closer ones that match the way I wheel.

Thanks for taking the time on this vid..... If you ever happen to be out in Vegas, let me know. I know its a ways away but you never know.

I always carry tools to pull a cv shaft if I was to break one plus extra tie rods. My biggest fear is breaking the rack. I try to use my front locker only when I have too.

Thank you for the offer I will keep it in mind. Maybe next year I’ll get to head out west.

Fun times! I like the video - must of been challenging recording while solo.

Off topic... any issues with the Barnes shock skids fitting with the Fox coilovers?

No issues at all. I chose the Barnes because they have a large open area on the bottom of the skid to let mud and muddy water out. I don’t see why other companies don’t offer this drain. The last shock skids I had were Dv8 and I liked them at first they worked great but they stayed filled full of mud and were really hard to clean out. My Jonny joints thanked me after the Barnes install because now I can get them cleaned off easily after a ride.
