First it was Dirt Mountain. Now we have Ice Mountain. What will be the next form of Mother Nature surrounding thousands of undelivered Broncos as we end Winter and move into Spring???

NeXT was a company that Steve Jobs founded, after he was driven out of Apple computer (which he also founded).POLL Dirt Mountain then Ice Mountain. What's next?
I've always wanted to stuff modern guts in one of those old NeXT cases.NeXT was a company that Steve Jobs founded, after he was driven out of Apple computer (which he also founded).
Under this brand, he manufactured a computer that, in my opinion, was many years ahead of its time. Alas, it was not well marketed, and it never really sold very well at all.
NeXT eventually gave up on their own hardware, and tried to sell the operating system, ported to run on PC-type hardware. That never really sold, either.
Eventually, the point was reached at Apple where the operating system that was running on the Macintosh line of computers was deemed to be irredeemably outdated, and they were trying to come up with a whole new operating system to take its place. They had two or three different internal projects to develop a new Macintosh OS, and they had a partnership with Motorola and IBM to try to develop a whole new platform, but none of that really went anywhere.
Meanwhile, NeXT was floundering, but Apple recognized the potential in its operating system, so Apple bought up what was left of NeXT, and used NeXT's operating system as the basis for what would become MacOS 10. In the deal, Steve Jobs was back in at Apple, as the CEO.
Winner!Post-thaw + spring rain = Mud Mountain
That makes me wonder if there is any possibility at all of obtaining a copy of the Intel port of NeXTstep, and making it run on modern PC hardware. It's probably a very long shot, due to hardware having evolved so far since then, and there probably being no drivers for NeXTstep to support most modern hardware.I've always wanted to stuff modern guts in one of those old NeXT cases.
