Have a little blizzard going on in North Dakota, went for a little drive. Ended up pulling the winch line twice to get myself out. Also pulled out two others that were stuck. It was quite a chore just to back out of my garage.

It looks familiar as I’m at our Northern Minnesota lake home right now sitting in the same storm. I just ran to the grocery store for some supplies and the last 2 miles of the road to our home isn’t plowed and the Bronco and Falken Wildpeaks loves to play in the snow, lol.

I’ll get the snowblower out when it stops and my son and I will get out on the Ski Doos tonight and tomorrow. :) I’m heading to Florida on Friday for a couple weeks so we are enjoying maybe our last snow storm of the season. The snow drift in our back yard is about 40” deep.

Sorry MNLakeBum, but if you think this MN winter will be over when you return after a few weeks in FL, you haven't lived here long enough to know how how long winter can linger. This biatch is gonna be with us until May. You may wanna extend your vacation. 🤣

I don't know, looks like an alien invasion! Those sneaky bastards. ❄ ❄ ❄ :alien: ❄ ❄
The aliens occupy the dock inverted 180º in the summer, lol.

Those are the super stout steel flairs by Ford parts. Some folks like them. But not very many installed and in the road. Here's my flairs.

1st Pic reminds me of the April Fools storm that hit CT 1998.
We had just bought our first house in October the previous year. We owned a Land Rover Series 1 Discovery. The driveway was still dirt from the road to the garage. Like many young couples starting out we were maxed out with the mortgage, a plow, snow blower, and pavement would have to wait. We had made it through the winter storms by making tracks and packing down the snow. I would purposely back into the garage facing out so I could get a running start. We thought we had made though our first winter and were in the clear. Spring had arrived, the grass was turning green, and the robins had returned. Then the Nor’easter hit. The wind had whipped up drifts as high as the 4 foot fence in the backyard. Our 200’ path to the road was an undulating sea of white. Upon opening the garage door I was faced with a waist deep hump. The wife was desperate to get to work and said “It’s fine, just put it in 4 low, you can make it.” I get in grab the 4x4 lever with both hands and wrestle it into low, clunk locking the diff, put the tranny in 1st gear, rev the V8, and nail that drift. It takes a second for the wiper to clear the windshield but I had made out of the garage and about 3 feet before high centering on the frame all four wheels digging at air. I climbed down out and grab a shovel, dig myself out and back up, back into the garage. Defeated and not wanting to risk the even deeper drifts on the way to the road. We called our local farmer, who came down with his bucket loader and dug us out.

I have the Rough Country hidden winch mount, with a Warn Evo 10k winch.
That's ZACKLY what I plan on installing...after I get over that giant check I wrote to get the dayum truck!!!
Any way to gauge if the approach angle is reduced by the hidden mount?
I imagine it's not a problem getting to the cable in *a little* snow? I'm wondering about mud?
I'm used to the ancient Warn 12k on my F-250...

Great photos and lots of fun! What part of North Dakota? My Great Great Grandfather helped found the small City of Lehr (late 1800's) in South Central North Dakota...visited there last June.

I'm in the ND/MN area. Had a lot of fun plowing through the drifts and making a path for the other cars. What's funny is a couple days prior I was just out driving through the puddles.

I’m up in the northwest corner of the state, in the little town of Lignite.
