I’m a cheap, impatient person, therefore I decided to make my own “wash out” floor. Why the hell does Ford make an off-road vehicle with carpet floors as standard equipment!?! I’m tired of waiting on Armorlite and I’m not shelling out 6-700 to piece it together from Ford. So… for little over $100 I’ll just use Herculiner.
Easy enough to do in a weekend.
1. Remove the interior panels and carpet.
2. Remove all the plugs and wash the floor.
3. Remove sound deadening with dry ice, if desired.
4. Sand with 120grit.
5. Wash again.
6. Dry
7. Zip tie/ secure the wiring harness out of the way, tape what you don’t want covered.
8. Clean again with Xylene.
9. Apply 1st coat
10. Dry 1-4hours
11. Apply 2nd coat
12. Dry/ cure 24 hr
13. Reassemble the interior
Done with the floors, now to work on the rear platform.
