I love the trail camera on the Bronco.... I use it quite a bit. Surprisingly helpful. So..... I thought I would add another....

Just finished putting it in.... And yes my Ford rear camera is on again off again....

When you say trail camera, do you mean 360 + the integrated mirror? Is that a Wolfbox?
Yea I am talking about the @WolfBox ... I got the three camera system and since I had the Ford trail camera up front I placed this underneath where I could see my tires. Now I can see when I am on an obstacle and when I am about to drop off.... The example here is the gutter, I can not see it in the trail camera but the new one picks it up fine.

This^^^ is the reason I want one. For those times I don’t have a spotter.

I think this gives me a better view than any spotter would have standing off in front or to the side.... Yes, I did this for self spotting.

I like this idea a lot, do you have a picture of how the camera is mounted?

I am going to have to make a new mount... I used a flat piece of .080 aluminum and it vibrates.... so I put a bend in the side of it and it took 90% of the vibration out but looks ugly..... It extends back 10 inches from a skid so if I were to strike it on a rock it will just push up out of the way hopefully not destroying the camera. I will design up something more permanate but still flexible enough to protect the camera.

Just put a Wolfbox mirror/dash cam on my Raptor so I could see cars behind me. Works great. When cars are in my blind spot, I can still see the front of the vehicle in mirror. Much better than stock.

I agree. The forward and rear cameras are worth the price of admission.... Really impressed... The third camera only cost me about $40 during the introductory sale... Even though I already had Fords trail camera I thought it might be worth the price.... Hell the front Camera is 4k, rear camera is 2.5k and the trail camera is 1080p... The trail camera has better picture quality than the Ford cameras.....

I have their latest two-channel setup but I like what you did in terms of camera placement for self spotting.

I’m thinking maybe I’ll buy a camera loose from them if they sell it, or off a used two-channel through some deal, and rig it up like that. Once on the trail, unplug one camera from the mirror and plug in the rock view one. Hmmm.

Now that's a great idea. Waiting for the pic of how you mount the cam underneath. (y)

Thanks for sharing. Are those front wheels that are covered by the cam? Maybe you should protect the cam in case it's damaged by a rock when off-roading

yes those are the front wheels.... The idea about the "arm" is that if it is hit by a rock it easily bends upward. It does not take much effort to push it up. It would be nice to protect the face with a little plexiglass. Like I said the mount is temporary.... I think I have the location. I played with several other locations but so far this has been the best. I have had some ideas where I have some flat plate below it and it "looks" down through a elongated "slit".... I am open to any ideas... I would like it up higher but the skid plates interfere with the view. At least it is slightly higher than the skids.
