Genesis Offroad just released the Omega Dual Battery System for the Bronco.
This version uses a Redarc Alpha dc-dc charger to charge up your accessory battery while you are driving. You can use it with a lithium or AGM accessory battery, and we recommend using an AGM for your cranking battery. We offer the Dakota Lithium 135Ah battery to go with it.
The included bracket for mounting the charger has extra room for you to mount your own extra devices, such as an sPOD Bantam or other fuse boxes, relays, winch power solenoid, etc. That bracket is also available to purchase separately here if you just need a place to mount some components.
Unlike our Gen 3 Dual Battery System which links the 2 batteries together in parallel to charge them via the alternator, the Omega system keeps your accessory battery 100% separate from your cranking battery. It does have a reverse charge mode too - if your cranking battery is too low to start the engine, you can use the Redarc Redvision app to put the Alpha charger into Recovery mode. This will let the charger pull power from your accessory battery in order to charge your cranking battery up for 15 minutes to help you start the engine.
Like all our systems, the Omega system is completely pre-wired for you out of the box, so it is super easy to install. You can drop this into your Bronco in your driveway in just a couple hours or even less.
We keep lots of inventory in stock for the fastest shipping times in the industry. To learn more, please visit our website here.
Here's our step-by-step installation guide for the Bronco.
In this video, Shane from Genesis Offroad and Erich from Redarc discuss the benefits and limitations of the Gen 3 system and the Omega system to help you decide which one is right for you!
