I thought people were trying to convince us that textured tops will hide scratches?
That’s a Jeep top In that pic and the Jeep top is black on the outside and white underneath so it shows scuffs/scratches more. the Bronco MIC top is same color throughout so should be a slight advantage to showing scratches. Plus, the MIC top isn’t glossy so it won’t show car wash swirl marks or trail pinstripping marks which the Black modtop does have a clear coat so the statement is true that MIC will show less than the black mod top.

This might be the most sense I've seen in this thread yet. A modular top from the beginning was always going to be a black painted top and eventually white. Pictures come out and what does it look like? A black painted roof on a truck. Like did people on here want it to look like a car that was halfway waxed and had a dull look to it? No its going to be shiny like paint is
Yeah, I don't understand the complaints. 1) we saw it on the fishing concept months ago, and 2) we knew it was a painted black hardtop.......what did people expect it to look like? Too shiny?? Duh, it's clearcoated paint.....

I saw the fishing concept in person and the top doesn't have a blinding shine to it. Some can't seem to understand what the lighting does to what they are seeing.

The assumption that you can't take the painted surface off road without destroying it seems a bit hyperbolic. I took my X-terra with a black painted roof off road and it didn't destroy the roof. Sure you are going to get some scratches, that's inevitable. The gouges in the plastic trim didn't look any better though and were more difficult to cure in my opinion. People in 4-Runners also don't seem to freak out about going off roading because of their painted roof.

I figure with some PPF on the roof and or a roof rack it will all be fine.

The fact that it comes with a grille and mirror caps to match is exciting as hell to me. I'm excited for it on my BL build.

seems like Ford still cannot get away from the two tone grey/black. take a look at the rear window. Looks unfinished.
The window trims and the rear window hinges are the ugly gray. I don't understand that.

Yup. Not feeling this. Looks good, but the darker MIC top feels like the way to go if you plan on removing the top more than every once in a while.
Not a fan of the bling top. Too precious and glossy in my opinion. Hands down prefer MIC top...

I had thought of getting this but I’m not the biggest fan now...the gloss on gloss on gloss is just overkill for me...at least the MIC top is the same texture as the fenders and bumpers so it goes nice with everything but that’s just my opinion!

I did some soul searching, and more importantly, got the wife’s opinion...😬
As much as I love the mod top, I’m going to go with the MIC & soft top duo.
I don’t have the panache that the mod top brings. I’m rough around the edges...and whimsical. Yeah! That’s it, I’m whimsical. 🤄
