Any views on whether to get OEM paintable flares and paint them body color for the FE? I want to do it but I’m not certain i will love it. Lightning blue.

I’d keep the original flares and would be able to interchange them. But is it worth the cash.

I plan to get some color matched OBX flares at some point in the future. I've never liked unpainted flares.

Wow. That’s a great deal. Buying new flares is crazy but I guess with non textured paint it’s a must. Like you I just don’t know how I feel about all of the different shades of black. In person were your original flares exactly the same shade as the mic top?

My FE has finally hit the rail yard in my town, and I can see it when I drive to work just sitting there It’ll probably be another week before I can actually pick it up at the dealer, but I may send my drone over the rail yard to get a early peek.

If mine doesnt have the VIN on the plate, I'll build a jig and laser anneal my VIN into my plate. Once I get it setup, I can do the same for those that want to participate.

Day 9000 Still waiting for my First edition to leave in production status. Even Reached out to Ford and its been almost 2 weeks since they said they would "call me back" Eta to dealer was supposed to be 11/09

Do you see any reason why the gator back mudflaps would not fit with the 4wp running boards, or do you think it will work fine?

I'd be curious to know this myself. Seems like the the flaps without the rock rail cutout would work with those boards since they don't go as far forward as the rails...but would be great to have confirmation.

Same, my is "IN PRODUCTION" since the 25th with an ETA of tomorrow. Only communication from @Ford Motor Company was my "scheduled" email on 5Sep.

Confirmed. Ours does not have the VIN etched into the plate. I'll start a thread and we'll get a list going for people that want to get in on this little endeavor.
