I have a Base 2-door, and I purchased Ford accessory mud flaps. I do not plan to rock crawl so no clearance concerns. I decided I do not like the look with rear mud flaps. Also seems not to be much of an issue not having them in the rear.

I may still install the front flaps. The look is ok and it will help protect the rocker sills and lower sides. Has anybody installed the front flaps and NOT drilled holes and NOT inserted the included pins into the fender trim? I am wondering if the provided clips work sufficiently alone without putting holes into the fender trim per the include instructions.

I wouldn't think Ford would have required drilling if it wasn't necessary.

I used the Ford flaps on the front only and did not drill for the 2 supplied pins that would have gone through the fender flares.
They seem to be sturdy enough without the pins.

I did not drill the holes and they have been on my Bronco for a month with no issue. Been through snow (light) and heavy rain in that time

Old thread, but in case someone searches…

I didn’t drill holes in the fender flares because I wanted to have the option of removing them, or if they came off, not having holes visible. The clips supplied, as shown in post #4, very securely hold the splash guard to the fender flare. The other two bolts replace existing bolts. I’ve had mine on for almost a year and have been off-road with them at least 20 times.
