Anyone have any experience installing heated seats in a 221A big bend?

Only option i would like to have but would prefer to go with an as close to stock route as possible. I have the ford part numbers for the heat pads (M2DZ-14D696-A) and (M2DZ-14D696-AA).

Just wondering if these are plug and play, i know i will likely need to go buy the 222A hvac controller panel. However i have seen on a forum that heated seats can also be enabled threw forescan to be turned on threw the main screen. Anyone have any experience with this?

Search the forum. Someone installed aftermarket front and rear including switches (came as a kit no doubt) and the switches look pretty good installed.

i have a 331A non LUX / basic Badlands and there is no existing wiring for heated seats, I am in the process of adding the equivalent wiring needed and also modifying the manual HVAC controller to have the two 'PROFET' IC's and a few other components added. The manual controller actually has all the pads on the PCB but not the active components. Moving the seat controls to the touch screen provides the control interface.

This is not a small project, each seat is a complete disassembly with 12 plus hog rings each (love upholstery,NOT) , sourcing the 6 different connector pins has taken the longest. The PCB component work requires hot air soldering / rework yet another level of skill / equipment needed.

For me this started as looking for the simplest way to add the option, the more I explored the more involved it became. I hope to finish it this summer while I can commute on a motorcycle while having the seats out.

Yes it's overkill.

At this time i am only interested it going an oem route with it! Any modifying or aftermarket seat covers i am not interested in as the vehicle may not be long term. So far my fiance is not set on the bronco compared to the luxury of her crosstrek that we traded in on the bronco. I have no issues with fully disassembling the seats to do the install. I am a HET for a cat dealership so i have no issues with wiring or doing the work. Just trying to figure out the best and simplest option! Not having access to ford dealer info like i have with cat definately makes it more difficult. I know alot of brands use the same wiring harnesses for multiple vehicles based on trim levels. Did not know if this was the case for the broncos where i could simply repin the lower seat connectors for the heated seat pads. The vehicle was only bought last week and i am away at work for another 10 days.

The only easy OEM route is to trade it in for a model with heated seats

Any other OEM route will be the absolute most difficult path to getting heated seats you could possibly take

Not an option, i got the last white new 2024 big bend 4door in atlantic canada. I have no interest in heated seats. Only doing it to satisfy my wife.

Like i said above i do this for a career on the equipment scale. I am easily able to figure out the information on my own and do the repair which if successful i will share, however i did not know if someone had already been down this route. I have located the wiring schematics, just need to check out that i will be able to control the seats threw forescan without the hvac module.

You will need an HVAC module capable of controlling the seats.

The problem is the wiring will be the easy part.

Maybe you can find a used seat with the heater elements already installed or you are also a hobby upholsterer - but yeah, gotta rip the seat apart.

And then getting the right modules and doing the programming - that’s possible, easy even if someone has already figured it out; much more difficult if you have to go pecking through as-built data from other VINs trying to tease out the trigger values.

Vs getting an aftermarket cover and wiring it to a fuse and a switch. I’m not trying to dissuade you from your dream - in fact, I hope you do do it and post a how-to here, as that would be great to see. Just making sure you know what you are getting into. It isn’t exactly like wiring up a EMCP on an industrial engine - most of those dont require you to R/R upholstery held together with hog rings

i have been looking into this post and appears they can be programed threw the main display. Will likely spend some time this days off looking into it. The hvac display is for dual climate control i believe as well which may cause other issues. Im stubborn haha
To clarify:
The 'Manual' HVAC module circuit board does not have all the components to control the seat heating elements (circled in red), The 'Dual' control HVAC module correctly optioned with seat buttons does have the components.
I picked up a second manual HVAC module on e bay that I am modifying by adding missing parts.
My goal is to have the manual unit control the heated seats via the touch screen.

my goal is to leave everything as is with the manual hvac module and simply activate the heated seats threw the touch screen. Or am i going to need to buy the module or modify the manual hvac module like you are doing?

Yes, the APIM / button on touch screen sends a message to the HVAC module mimicking the button on front and it controls the heated seats by the power MOSFETS that are the components where circled.
The thermistors which determine seat temp and the heating element circuit connect to the HVAC module.
The module in pic with the components on it is an F150 version, identical except the recirc button has a pickup printed on it, cheap on ebay and purchased to help figure this out.
