Hello All,

I haven’t been here in a while. Unfortunately, I had to sell my 2022 a bit ago and now I’m starting to look again.

Just a quick question. Since it’s a few years older, has Ford updated the interior noise coming from the hard top? Or is it still loud?

Not that I’m expecting a Lexus, but my 2-door was quite loud.

Any other notable updates?

Thank you.

I would look at the painted HT instead of the MIC. The MIC still has it's issues. But regarding the noise level, the painted HT utilizes SMC instead of the thermoplastic resin of the MIC. The painted HT also has different headliner than what your MY'22 MIC had. There is also aftermarket support from HotHead Headliners. They were relatively slow to adapt their product to the Bronco when it was launched.

With two of my vehicles being convertibles, I wouldn't call it loud. In fact, with more seal area, it's quieter than expected from reading around here...I've got the two front panels plus the porthole.

I can actually hear a conversation on the phone compared to the Spider (top up).

The painted top is not quieter. I have a 2025 2dr with MIC, and a 2025 with painted top. Painted is much louder. In fact it measures a full 10 dB louder at 65 mph, and 12+ dB louder at higher speeds. The MIC sound level never goes above 75 dB. I've measured the painted top at 90 dB - that's loud.
I also had a early 2025 4dr with MIC, and it was also relatively quiet, and measured the same dB level as my current 2dr with MIC.

Amazon sound deadener on exterior panels and resonix black absorber on interior panels everywhere is possibly the highest value / benfit upgrade for the money.

Wow! I knew it was loud, but not that loud.

My only experience is with the 2025 Big Bend that I bought in January. I didn’t find the interior noise objectionable during an extensive test drive, and I just took a 1,600 road trip with no complaint. I did add sound deadening to the doors, but that was mainly to address the hollow sound when closing them. It may have helped a bit on the road, but not dramatically so.

My friend has the new 4Runner TRD, and I felt it had similar road noise to the Bronco.

my ‘23 Big Bend soft top is not objectionable until about 70 mph. At 75, it’s loud and at 80 it’s insane. Gas mileage also drops like a rock over 75. The Bronco is about as aerodynamic as a barn and pushing it through the wind at 80 creates a helluva lot of disturbance. My Territoy’s also have about 25k on them and have gotten louder with every mile that goes by. But I didn’t expect a Town Car when I bought it so it’s on no way surprising or objectionable.

I’ve now had three broncos. The first was a 23 wildtrak 2 door. It was loud. Big wind noise from the back. Then I had a 24 heritage limited and it was louder than the wildtrak, even with painted top. I was very surprised that the painted top and newer model was so loud. I now have a stroppe edition and this one is so quiet, feels like I’m driving a normal vehicle. Way less noise and also features a sound deadening windshield. Just very slight wind noise here but it’s nothing. It seems like luck of the draw.

I have owned many Wranglers, along with several other off road vehicles over the last 25+ years and my 23 Wildtrak might be quieter than many of the 1/2 ton trucks I have owned. I think I have the MIC top. Strange that some think the Bronco is loud. Literally a Cadillac compared to the others I have owned?!? Maybe since I've owned so many off road vehicles I have a larger sample size. Just strange to me. Quite as...well not quite a mouse, but you get the gist. 🤷🏻

Based on everything I’ve read here, it seems to be a crap shoot from one Bronco to the next, likely based on fitment variations from the factory. Obviously tires are a big factor, and maybe how much wax is in your ears.

I’ve got the painted top on my HE and the SAS Goodyears and once the OEM roof rack came off it was reasonably quiet on paved roads up to 55-60. We can have a normal conversation with low voices and hear each other fine. Approaching 70 and beyond the noise definitely ramps up but it’s not horrible. It’s got the black squares for sound deadening which don’t cover the whole top interior.

It’s at its loudest going up our bumpy gravel hill at 15-20mph where the interior just reverberates everything pretty bad unless I crack a window. Somehow that helps.
