Badlands Off-Road Park Trip Report. (Attica, IN)

Our morning ride to the meet started off with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Everyone rolled in around 9:45 AM just as the rain started letting up. By the time we reached the parking area to air down and install our flags, the rain had completely stopped. The skies stayed heavily overcast all day and several times it looked like it was about to pour again, but luckily the rain held off.

The terrain was very diverse. We started off playing around on the dunes, then headed over to the quarry for some rock crawling before taking a quick lunch break.

After lunch, Johnny our trail leader led us onto some green and yellow trails through the woods. The park was extremely slick and muddy, which made every trail a little more challenging than usual. Mud was everywhere, but that didn’t stop the group from having a great time.

The wooded trails were tight, slick, and filled with mud holes where you almost had to guess which line to take. Somehow everyone made it through without getting stuck. At the end of that section we faced a steep muddy hill climb where going too slow or stopping would definitely ruin your day. It had a bit of a pucker factor, but everyone made it up without any issues.

To finish the day we headed back to the dunes to play around and get some FPV chase drone footage. The skies were really dark, the wind was constantly howling around 15–20 mph, and the sand was soaked from the earlier rain.

This park was a blast I totally recommend t if you near this area. We will definitely be going back next year.

This video was filmed almost entirely with drones. There is no audio so you’re stuck with music.

Nice! This is my go to offroad park living here in Indy.

Took my Bronco there when it had less than 5000 miles on the clock and had a blast. The quarry and woods are definitely my favorite parts.

Did you guys go through the big pipe?

I am going to have to make a trip up to Attica! It is less than 2 hours for us. We have made the trip down to Callies camp grounds, this last fall, to do the DBBB. I'll check out the Kentuckiana page as well. Look forward to linking up on a ride some time in the future.

Don’t know if this is the same group that I rode with in Red River Gorge back in April but they were some really nice people. It was a fun time.
