Thanks, Bill. I think I’ll go that route. Wanted to confirm with Leitner, but haven’t been able to get a response yet. Will keep trying.

Yeah, I would have that confirmation for sure.

Temp placement until the brackets for our cargo boxes get here. There are a total of 6 cross bars with ours 3 to the front and 3 to the rear.

I’m very impressed with the build of this system.

That looks very nice. Seems like a perfect fit.

How long did it take to get it after your ordered?

It shipped same day I ordered. I had it in days, so within a week. It was a big heavy box and everything was wrapped very well. Same instructions as what is online.

Hi all! New to the neighborhood.

We went Bronco so we could continue to be a park-and-tent-pitch family of five, with some basic off-roading capability here in WV.

TrailRax was a slam dunk; done deal. Removable tops, weight distributes through the body, bonus side panels for our water.

Then we went to order and saw the painted hard top warning. Did the dance, sent the measurements, and TR gave us the no-fit response.

So what we are hoping for is a rack that mounts to the fender, and distributes the weight down. At this point, I'd take a rear rack only for the clamshell, as long as it could bolt to the body. At least something to get our gear on.

None of the short racks seem to reach down to the fender. They only clamp to the top of the hard top. In my poor man's engineering, that just seems a higher chance of failure.

Considered Gobi, and it's got meaningful-sounding attachment points, but the solution is sparse on load members; one sunroof insert, two crossbars, and no forward fairing. You can add crossbars, but it starts to ratchet up costs.

Has anyone come across a rack that mounts to the body, be it a full or a partial rack?

Cheers!

TrailRax responded earlier in this thread that they will have modified clamps to address this by mid-May.
FYI
Thanks Chris!

I noticed that response while poring through the thread. Promising, but I still want to keep shopping in case I can find a quicker option. In a month, I may go right back to TR as our solution, if there isn't something already on hand.

Camping season is coming!

Cheers!

I have a '26 Badlands with a painted roof and even when TrailRax comes up with the appropriate shallow bracket, I'm still going to pass. I would rather see the bumper and frame bear cargo load rather than my fancy painted roof so I would prefer an exoskeleton rack solution like you see on many Jeeps - just not at the Gobi price! Sigh.

I think you’ve sold me on the Leitner. Super premium looking, far superior to the others.

I also like how the clamps assemble separately and are their own unit. Far less torsional stress on the clamps under load.

We are expecting to have the new rear clamps in hand mid-May!
Can we purchase a rack today during the last day of the tax day sale, then take delivery once new clamps are ready to ship? We just brought home our new Bronco and would love to take advantage of this sale, but need the new clamps for our painted roof.

Here is what we wanted from the beginning. We wanted cargo boxes that didn’t look like Yakima ( which we have ) and Thule. Low profile to the roof and large volume. And the ability to remove the roof panels. Leitner was the only company of all the ones we contacted that met those requirements. I’m very glad it all worked out In the end.

Before the cargo boxes, how was the wind noise since it doesn’t have a wind foil?

There is a wind foil that is under the front of the rack. No more noisy than the Bronco is usually.

Traveling in Montana and so far no unbearable noise from the rack or cargo boxes. Recovery gear in passenger side box and fly fishing gear in the other.
