I just got my defective mirrors in the mail today. Though I received a full refund, I thought I would compare them to my OEM's. before throwing them away.

There doesn't seem to be much difference between the WolfBox mirror and my "objects are closer than they appear" OEM passenger side view mirror

The Wolfbox mirror (top) does cover more area on the drivers side.

Almost the entire world uses convex mirrors in vehicles. Due to yet another stupid law the US is still falling behind. LH mirrors in the US are mandated to be flat. Manufacturers have to follow the law. These aftermarket companies do not. Problem is when a cop decides to be a jerk... You will be the one paying the ticket, not the aftermarket company that sold you the illegal device.

Maybe in Illinois or California . Zero cops in my state are gonna notice a convex mirror on the driver side and really give a damn as long as you can see behind you with it.

I went the refund route as well, but they should arrive today.

I am going try the driver's side out to see if it works before tossing it out. If it works, I'm not too concerned about the legality of a part that functions better than original. But do want to keep all the functions, like BLIS.

Be aware the driver side convex mirrors are illegal in the US. There is a reason why factory RH mirror is convex and has the "objects in the mirror bla, bla" thing. Every state differentiates probably a little, but manufacturers are mandated to use flat mirrors on the LH. It's a federal law. Just be aware.
Welcome to off-road vehicle modding, my friend. Half the mods people make to their vehicles here (including mine) probably break some law or regulation in certain states. The risk averse who never drank from a garden hose or ran with scissors when they were young need not apply.

Previously ordered the massively overpriced SUMA mirrors and they broke with 3 minutes of installation. Luckily got a refund -

I’ll be ordering these.

Did the mounting ring break off from the mirror base? These Wolfbox mirrors are much better in that regard because the base and mounting ring are molded as one piece like the OEM. It just needs BLIS fixed.

Probably true, but you will be surprised. That's why I love this country. Usually the stuff that should be illegal is actually legal and the stuff that should be common sense and legal... is not. :)

I just want to point it out, because it's pretty obvious seller is either oblivious to it or not mentioning it on purpose. Also, fully aware that there is slim to none chance of someone actually stopping you for this and actually noticing it. Technically I'm riding with an illegal vehicle also, since I would not go to a dealer for a stupid belt latch relocation.
Just FYI... That's all.

The horror!

I have driven my Bronco for five years with bead-lock rings on all 5 wheels! I can barely sleep at night knowing my intentional lawlessness, but I force myself to, just for survival! 🥴

Highly unlikely any cop pulling you for this anywhere or even noticing it at all, but... I just though it was worth mentioning it. First off because I know about this issue from another vehicle that I have and I find it fascinatingly stupid to have a law like that. Second I feel like a lot of sellers are not very transparent about what they are selling. When I was buying my lights I was told excplisitly which ones are DOT compliant and which were not. This guy doesn't mention that what he is selling is not legal. Regardless of if we care or not about the fact.

I'm pretty sure the passenger mirror comes convex from factory, so you only notice the expanded mirror on driver side. I think you end up with same results with suma, it's been talked about before in suma threads

You're basically buying a driver mirror, and getting a passenger one to match for free
