No that is not true. The tailgate is painted black. I know this as I watched them prep it for re-paint. At least on #45
Mine is wrapped for sure! Just had to have it touched up because the white was showing through on the edges.

So confident, yet so wrong.

Mine is for sure wrapped. My hood is wrapped as well. Your truck might be different. I sure wish they were both painted because I’ve already had to deal with the white showing through where ther are tiny scratches, and all along the edges of the tailgate. My Wrap guy had two other 2025 two door Stropppes in and was wrapping them 100% in Matt black. Which looked amazing by the way. He specifically said he didn’t have to wrap the tailgate and the hood. He just matched that color.

Can you post some pics of the tailgate wrap? It would be interesting to see. Unless Penske had a newbie on the job, I can’t see why they would arbitrarily change protocol and wrap a tailgate in the middle of the run.

My truck is in the shop getting some mods but I can in a couple of weeks. Here's what I wonder...why would they paint the back and wrap the front? And in regards to the above query about flaking paint, mine had scratches in the tailgate that showed through with the shiny white!

Well... Even with paint, there would be white underneath.

I can tell you that the hoods and tailgates were all painted white at Ford before going to Penske. Penske painted the orange sides and flat black tailgate over that white. I can also say that the flat black paint seems very thin, as shown in the pic just above.

That makes sense. Even the orange is only lightly painted. My ring camera in the dark shows my Stroppe as all white.

Very interesting points about the paint.

The two I have seen had painted tailgates. The paint did seem very thin.per @Baja71 .

Is anyone experiencing paint issues on the overpainted sections (tailgate or orange)? I realize these are less than two years old, so not much to go on yet in terms of longevity.

Has anyone here removed the hood wrap?

Here is my truck now. Wrapped the whole thing and fill POF.

That is one way to not worry about the paint. Very sharp! And like the stock SE, will not get lost in a crowd!

What rack is installed?

Thank you! I love her. It’s aTrailrax. I’m not that happy right now with it though, I can’t get my recovery boards on the side. And I can’t get my tent mounted on top. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but it’s frustrating not to be able to just do it for the money that that thing cost.🫤
