Im still trying to decide everything I need for a 3-4" lift kit for my badlands sasquatch. Went to a shop today and they are really fond of Rock krawler lift kits? they have a stage 1 with non adjustable coil overs https://rockkrawler.com/rock-krawler-ford-bronco-3-x-factor-stage-1/

And a stage 2 kit with adjustable https://rockkrawler.com/rock-krawler-ford-bronco-3-x-factor-stage-2/

Im curious how these compare to fox 2.5 or icon lift kits.

Do i need everything that is included in these kits for real off roading and even small jumps? Are there fox kits that are better for similar prices?

I plan on going with 37" tires.

I had the Rock Krawler X-factor kit on my 2012 Jeep JKU Rubicon and it was top notch. 100% would choose them again for my Bronco.

It’s true. I can’t think of another company that has better customer service and stands behind their products. Here’s my experience-https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/rock-krawler-coilovers-an-review.127257/

I believe the coilovers in the first kit are adjustable-I can see the preload nuts in the picture. If you’re referring to the adjustable compression on the reservoirs I bet if you called them and asked to upgrade they’d absolutely take care of you.

Here are some shock travel numbers. You get 6+ inches from sas bilsteins. All aftermarket shocks get a free 1.6” of lift at wheel (MR of 1.6) by increasing extended length to 24.3” (max allowable for oem CVs).

To get to 3” of total wheel lift you need another 1” of lift at the shock using spring stiffness/preload. For sub 6” shock travel that will start to put your ride height equilibrium shock location out of balance, ie, less rebound travel. So more like 2” of rebound and 4” of jounce. Going more than three inches of wheel lift makes this worse.

The RK shocks have very good travel, something like 7+. @SierraBronco might be able to confirm. So it will be easier to stay near mid shock travel at ride height.

I would not do more than 2-3” of lift with any of these. This keeps cg down and helps stay near mid stroke at ride height. A small 1” body lift can help with tire clearance.

If I was spending dollars I would also want to make sure I get my spring rates correct and associated valving for my typical use weight. RK seems to have the customer service to accommodate this. Another option would be ride shocks, but I think RK has better travel numbers.

If I remember correctly, you’re correct on the 7” of travel for the bolt-in bronco front coilovers. They do have .75” shaft mounted bumps, so take that for what you will.

Thanks for that info. Do you know how thebactual driving and off road does with the rk shocks? Will i be able to achieve both small jumps and fast sections as well as awesome rock crawling?

I had a Rock Krawler lift on my 2012 Jeep. Worked well off road, I'd buy from them again. I knew many people that had their kits, never heard a complaint about them.

That said, I haven't heard anything about their shocks. So if you like their kit, get it without the shocks. Get shocks from another MFG. Fox is usually my first choice.

Better shocks than most. Only MFG that I would say is better than Fox is King. King are fairly expensive though.

I have Fox 2.0 with reservoirs on my Jeep. They are rebuildable and tunable. I had them tuned by Accutune. Rebuildable means that if you break it, you can rebuild it from parts vs. a non-rebuildable shock, you toss in the trash and buy a new one.

Also not a fan of Bilstein. I had the 5100 on my first Jeep briefly and they were rough. Replaced with Fox and haven't bought anything other than Fox since.

That said, was thinking of getting an Eibach kit for my Ram 1500 before I decided to sell it. I read lots of good reviews on the Eibach kits. So would consider them for the Bronco when/if I get one.

@SierraBronco has posted a link to a very exceptional review and info. It is worth studying. I know it is long but that is what gives it value.

For the TLDR crowd I can summarize. No high speed jumps unless you remove the little bump stop located on the shock shaft. Those suckers weigh a ton and will drastically reduce the air you can get. After all, they are just bling that needs to be painted the same color as your UCA. Disclaimer: this comment was generated by my favorite AI tool.

A lot of people have issues with the King coilovers for the bronco. Something about “cvs,” whatever that is. I’d be getting Ride coilovers by @AccuTune Offroad before Fox or King. Because they’re rebuildable.

Why don’t you like Bilstein? Multiple ride zones and not needing external bumps or limit straps is too convenient?
