The SkyOneTouch is the one thing Jeep does better than Ford. My wife has one and it's great, would definitely order one on a new Bronco. I did have the pano moon roof on my F150 and did love it. Unfortunately, about 4 years into ownership, tracks cracked and the repair was $2K. I've wondered how long it would take Ford to develop one of these for the Bronco since they've been building them for every other model they produce. I would've hoped for Bronco, they would've just gone with canvas instead of glass. A glass top of a flexing body is asking for it....

Yep. $650 repair on mine. That failed. $2k replacement expense followed. THAT one also failed. The frustrating thing about it was I never used it intentionally. I just liked opening the screen. But occasionally I would hit the wrong button and open the glass. Like three or four times. Getting tired of the expense, I ordered the replacement parts and attempted the repair myself. That also didn't work because it wasn't just the plastic arms that broke the second time around.

The truck now leaks like a sieve.

I honestly think the weight of the glass is too much for the other components over the course of time. Now, we’ve had my wifes’s Skyonetouch for 5.5 years with no issue.

Yeah, and I've casually looked around for an aftermarket that doesn't open. No luck so far and the folks at one of the F150 forums hadn't seen one in the wild, either.

You do understand the tops are made by an outside contractor. Your point should be afore should find a different roof contractor to finally put an end to the roof debacle.
Yeah, I get a contractor built them but I’m sure Ford engineers had some role in design and testing. I hang it on the top producer too, of course.

Definately not an assembly want to cheap out on needs to be a $4K option to have any credibility for reliability and durability, and deliver. Id pay.

Not sure why Ford just doesn't make a 1 piece roof that covers both the front/rears and has a simple sun/moon roof like the old explorer sports, etc. Doesn't need to cover both front rear, just fronts.

Because the big selling point of the 6G is the REMOVABLE roof

This would be an OPTION for those who don't want to take off the roof panels and have the sun/moon roof experience.

It's just the 2nd row piece with a glass opening.

Seems more appropriate for a future/revised Lincoln version. Definitely going to need to strengthen up the body to keep something like that from failing (cracks, leaks, etc). Think it would be difficult to keep it stable enough to be fully functional over time.

There were 2 patents filed, one was a canvas version.
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/bi-directional-roof-patent.133496/
Our friends just bought a Jeep with the canvas version of this (except it pushes all the way to the back) and I think it will be a hit for those who never take the top all the way off. Many a Bronco and Jeep has never had the rear clamshell off. I see the glass version going in a Lincoln Bronco first (if they do build one).

We don't need this. What we need is Ford to cancel their contract with their current roof vendor, and sign one with whomever makes them for the Jeep Wrangler. I never had an issue with my Jeep's hardtop in the 14 years I owned it.
