I restored all settings back to factory specs and parking sensors still don’t work. No faults but getting error code U2101:00-08 for APIM and U2101:00-28 for PAM. Both say “Comtrol Module Configuration Incompatible”. Would the wrong TRM module cause this? I have confirmed all codes are correct for both modules per the motorcraft services as built files.

If you use forscan did you save your settings beforehand? Motorcraft website is not necessarily going to be accurate in all cases.
You say you don't have any faults but you're getting an error message, what is a fault?
Does that mean the MIL light's not on?
Have you tried to clear or reset the DTC?
Did you remove the bumper?
It is unlikely that it's the actual trm module.
You can prove this by unplugging it or removing the fuse for it if you didn't want to take the panel back off.

Yes I used the prior saved data and then downloaded the code to verify they matched. It all matched. So I pulled the TRM fuse and the APIM and PAM modes no longer have a fault. Also when I put it in gear the parking sensor fault doesn’t show up either. However the sensors are not picking up anything. The right front blipped one time and then back to nothing again. Anyone have any thoughts what else is needing to be reset. Probably pulling the TRM module back out so I can put the fuse back in and then pulling the battery negative off to see if I can reset everything

Well after I put the TRM fuse back in all the sensors have now started working. Go figure. If you know the right TRM module number for a 2026 model let me know and I’ll get that one ordered and replace it.

Just finished the tow package installation on a 24 Badlands, and this guide was a solid 10/10. Great work!

Hi - I installed the OEM trailer hitch kit (VS2DZ-15A416-C) that I ordered from local dealer on my 2026 Badlands Sasquatch. I Installed hitch, module and socket using pre-installed wiring harness according to the instructions. While the socket will power the running lights on my trailer, FORscan doesn’t show the TRM module and brakes, turn signals and hazards do not function. . Changes in FORScan BdyCM and APIM modules don’t seem to enable the module and the instructions that came with the kit use the FDRS software to conduct a network scan and activate the module. Is there a way around a trip to the dealer to get this thing properly installed? so frustrating!

Wanted to expand on my post from last night in case anyone can help or if it’s helpful… Here’s my situation and question which seems different than the experience in this thread:

2026 Badlands. OEM VS2DZ-15A416-C installed. Socket has power. No TRM appears in FORScan even after multiple rescans. Did anyone with a 2026 need FDRS to complete the instructions that came with the kit before the TRM would show in FORScan? Im wondering if something has changed with the 2026MY?

No TRM appears in FORScan even after multiple rescans.
Did you create a new profile in forscan or use an existing one, prior to installing the trm module?

Thanks for the reply! I created a new profile after the module install. Is that the wrong sequence? Also did many disconnect, connects, new scans after cycling ignition and no TRM module. I’m wondering if Inhave to have the FDRS do a network scan to get the TRM module to show up? I’m not that familiar with all
if this so not even sure if what i’m saying makes sense!

In short, if forscan can't see it, fdrs can't either.

This is assuming that all your connections are good.
It has power, The fuses are good.

The best thing is to ensure the fuses are good, and you have power at the module
There's two fuses.

One is solely going through a relay inside the module that powers aux power for the trailer.

The other one Powers the module and creates the separate outputs for your lights (some of them)

WHn you scan it forscan, make sure you're doing it from a new created profile.
And your software is up to date.

This advice (as is the rest of your guide) was perfect. I created another new profile and surprise, surprise, there was a TRM. After that it was smooth sailing with all of the FORScan values you've listed in your guide. Happy to report that the guide works on 2026 MY Broncos with the OEM full trailer kit. Thanks for the help! I did end up also enabling the "Trailer Light Check" option in the APIM module which adds a nice menu feature under the towing area where it cycles through all of your lights to verify everything works when you are alone.

Thanks again!
