I have a pooping sound that I thought was part of the suspension, but upon the Ford dealer checking it out, they reported back it is my skids plates.

I have the full set including the catalytic converted skids and drop the engine plate each time I change the oil and have not seen anything rubbing.

Anyone have something similar happen they can share?

There's one way to be certain. Take them off and drive it. No more pops = It was the plates. Still pops = something else.

Yeah...thought about that, but wanted to see if others had a similar experience.

get it up on a lift and tap softly with a rubber mallet, they shouldn't be flexing like that. Are they loose?

I am going to change the oil in the morning so I will check it out. One thing that I did a while back was to swap the RCI bolts with the factory Ford ones.

Maybe the washers on the Ford bolts are just large enough to bottom out the "cupped" mount before they actually come into contact with the skid plate itself and so the plates are not fully against the mount points.

RCI's hardware is complete garbage. If the Ford bolts are the issue, I will purchase some flange bolts to replace them and be good to go.

That sounds like a real possibility. Hope this fixes your issue.

If it is the ford bolts, I'll buy the lot from you for $10 (+shipping), I bang mine up on the rocks and need replacements occasionally.
