New recall issued 4/17 NHTSA #26V236 for drivetrain

Anyone see this one yet? Stumbled across it on my Bronco’s carfax of all places. Having had the transmission and or transfer case repaired or replaced, in my case due to chasing a drivetrain noise, triggered the recall of 5000 broncos from 2021-2025

I got a letter today. REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE

Says it should be available Q3 2026.

Well, I dropped my Bronco off at the dealer this morning for this recall and just heard back that I failed the inspection.

The dealer will submit the info to Ford and we’ll see what they authorize. Service advisor says it may involve a new transfer case, new transmission, or both, or that Ford may send them a rebuild kit. I’ll have to wait and see. I’m not at 29k miles yet so still have basic warranty in effect. I’d obviously prefer factory new components to a rebuild.

According to the documentation in the recall, it's "New transmission and transfer case, at no charge to the customer"

Friend of mine got this. He had 7MT issues, then lost all forward and reverse gears after trans replacement. He ended up with ANOTHER trans and transfer case. They blamed rust on the splines. On a 2023 with 12k miles this spring...

Eager to see what the repair consists of.

Oh what eff. This could end up, causing a lot more problems than actual fixes.
