CorrectThe PCM controls the engine and trans, right?
Did someone say Filson? The Wildtrak is the quickest of the Broncos and even that feels a bit snail-like to me
Looks like the Filson and the WT are neck and neck in a drag race, with the Raptor close behind (maybe?) Depending on the source, the 0-60 times vary dramatically.Did someone say Filson?
I don't know what specifically is in the update. The generic message Ford gives everyone else is all I get also.@Ducati1098, I know this PCM change is supposed to be related to the HVAC, but do think they could have done something there to cause NOTR issue? Since mine didn't complete, what should I do? Do you think my FP tune could have caused the fail? It does it's OTA thing a 1:00 am and it's still failed today. With that cause problems with future OTAs?
I think it's still in question how the Filson 3.0L will be tuned, but the 35" tires might help it. Personally, I'd always give up a little HP to get a few more ft-lbs. Love me some torque!Looks like the Filson and the WT are neck and neck in a drag race, with the Raptor close behind. This isn't about 0-60 times though and tenths of a second. It's about 3+ seconds of difference between the 2.3 trucks and the WT. That's a massive difference and is so painfully slow to drive.
I remember years ago someone posted on Slashdot a before and after of a management console for some tool. The first was "created" (we won't say designed...) by an engineer and had like 80+ settings squeezed into a single form, lots free entry fields and/or with cryptic abbreviations. As an engineer I've learned there are a host of trade offs in 99.99% of engineering decisions. In fact, my definition of engineering art is "compromise management". Same goes for buying decisions. There is a zillion trade offs floating around out there with all the vehicle options (and limitations) on the market, picking one of them (or even six of them) to be your own is a beeoch.
I did have similar 2.3 vs 2.7 concerns, but I didn't notice much difference between them in my Bronco test drives.I know...I know... I prefer a manual too and almost every single one of my vehicles has been manual. That being said, I couldn't deal with the insanely sluggish 2.3 motor. The Wildtrak is the quickest of the Broncos and even that feels a bit snail-like to me based on the vehicles I've driven for most of my life. It's adequate, but not ideal. That's just my opinion though. Everyone has a different idea of what matters to them in a vehicle

Isn't that a Saturn Sky? What badging is slapped on the back of it?I did have similar 2.3 vs 2.7 concerns, but I didn't notice much difference between them in my Bronco test drives.
Maybe it was because I drove my manual gearbox "speed vehicle" (pictured below" to those test drives.

Looks like an Opel GT, (European version of the Sky)...Isn't that a Saturn Sky? What badging is slapped on the back of it?
I call Engineering an "art" because some are good at it, some are not, and not all aspects of the skill can be taught...and experience is valuable beyond belief....sometimes.I always thought that perfectly encapsulated engineers.![]()
What's the difference between an engineer and a smart person? Well I've got a theory about that... lolI call Engineering an "art" because some are good at it, some are not, and not all aspects of the skill can be taught...and experience is valuable beyond belief....sometimes.
I forgot about the Opel. Thanks!Looks like an Opel GT, (European version of the Sky)...
