That is correct. Thank you. However, I did previously hear that the EcoBoost engines should have a timing job around the 150K mark and went with that. A quick look into A.I., because the internet and surly A.I. would never steer you wrong . Results came back timing chain good for life of engine, but oil pump belt should be 150K or 10 years. Keep eye on oil / oil filter for rubber particles for signs of belt degradation.

250K is a lot to ask of a belt in this example

to be honest, it's the complexity of the computerization that scare me the most with regards to long term ownership.

This is not necessarily true.
While it is the way Ford says to do it, the engine does not need to be removed if you know what you’re doing.

Ducati be like, Ford, nuh-uhh.

I warned people in the comments of a lot of posts about this and you guys said I’m dumb and the belts won’t fail. This one has been soaking for a max of 5 years.

I think what bothers me about something like this is that you have to pull the engine to access it. ANY belt will fail unlike a gear driven system, this should of been designed as a something that could be checked and replaced as it wears out.
This is another example of saving a dollar per engine by using a belt instead of a gear all the while while promoting planned obsolescence.

Nope, just never seen a mechanical pump fail, oh sure it's possible, cranks snap, lifters break etc etc Belts on the other hand will wear out. Gm did this on their small diesel as well. They recommend changing it every 150k, it's on the back of the engine also and requires the engine be pulled to change it. Alot of owners opt to just sell it and let someone else deal with it.

Again... Why? if it must be belt driven why not put it on the front where it can be maintained BEFORE it fails??
