I drive with either the top down or windows down almost all of the time... so that is a factor.

So this is like a trick question

The easy answer is yes - absolutely.

But it isn't about volume at all. Where I listen at normally, you can still have a conversation over. With the Bronco parked, you can hear it clearly in the near vicinity of the Bronco. Driving down the road, it's still clear. With the top down at highway speed - then you need to bump it up a notch as you start losing the bass (as @23OBX2.7 likes to point out, 1000W sub would have been better, but I still don't feel that's warranted for my use), but it's still pretty clear - and at those speeds you can't have a conversation over the wind/road noise either - and there's enough power to overcome the road noise entirely if you want, but it's ... getting pretty intense at that point.

With the windows up and top on, though, that same level - clear all the way at any speed. And you can still talk over it - so it's not about being loud.

For those quick to express my waste on Sirius, it’s Free. Took 2 Lifetime SiriusXM accounts in older vehicles back when Sirius was relatively new… they offered Lifetime option. Since then, I just transfer the Acct to new Vehicles.

I would have SXM too if that were the case. There were some decent channels on there - just not nearly enough to justify the price or the annual required haggling.

Interested in hearing (reading) what both @5GENIDN and @Brian_B have upgraded in Broncos. I’m prepping for my ’25 with the Power-9 DSP, etc. (other thread).

I’m not an audio geek, just want better quality in Bronco.

Curious what mods you’ve performed, sound deadening, etc to accomplish the quality sought. Do you feel with the Bronco’s various noises, has it been worth the time & cost.

If all discussed in other posts… link those in.

Because I have the "Limited" it came with Ford's spray on sound deadener. I added kill mat everywhere there was not spray sound deadening. At least in the back and directly behind the front speakers especially the kick panel woofers.

this pic is incomplete. I added more on the sides after taking this pic.. I also had to remove the stock subwoofer because the mount for the new dsp and amp was designed for a 4 door and I had to move it to the former sub location.

I also added kill matt on the back side of the plastics.

Again I cheated a bit by purchasing a complete system from Morel.... They had a fully matched system that used 5 matching hybrid point source speakers for the three in the dash and two pods with two matched hybrid woofers for the kicks and a tailgate mounted 12" ultimo sub. Morel engineers actually provided a tune for the M0bridge DSP specifically tuned for the bronco.

The tune was very good (especially after burn in) but still a little bass heavy for me so I have been adjusting that ever so slightly to get it where I liked.

Was it worth it? I don't know... I probably could have come close to the same on my own for a lot less money but I am getting old and my budget is a little larger than it used to be so I guess yes.... I saved myself a lot of time with this as a starting point. Time becomes more valuable as you get older.... LOL....

I actually do not take my top off very often but with a peak of 2300 watts total I can drown out ANYTHING else.... So yes I enjoy it.

I agree with Brian. It is not about volume. it is about clarity. I can hear a lot of nuance that just was not there before.

Great response… I’m similar, if company in rig... Volume is low for conversation. Current ‘25 Bronco B&O if low flattens out and primarily all up Ft. I prefer balance or more rear to help with conversations. Clarity and separation of audio is the primary that can handle higher volume if by myself.

Not to push a subscription, they’ve added a lot of channels over last 4-5 yrs making it a much better service and price. Adding SiriusXM Internet is great too… on phone or notebook for minimal cost, and Internet XM has additional channels.

I‘ve got my sound deadening, vibration dampening materials and roller set ready for cooler temps to begin install (In 90+ temps, it’s a bit soft to work with). Planning full interior and doors… inside plastic panels I considered and your photos helped emphasize… may do that too. I thought about spray in door edges and sides, but concerned if made too water tight might be problematic down the road. Did the “Limited" have more / additional deadening than BRaptor LUX package?

Sitting in house, full set Audison Prima Bronco kit with 6.5 Rear Coaxial and Rockford Fosgate 10" Sub… waiting for Power-9 Kit and AdditiveCarAudio Enclosure.

I am in my mid 60s.... SO about the same age.

Audison makes great products.... Get the tune right and that will be fantastic! That tuning takes time. No, I do not think the stock Ford sound deadening is any different. Might be a few differences in models but it is probably pretty similar.

They just quickly sprayed spots on large panels that might get some resonance to give them a little more mass... I think it definitely helped with stock noise values but I think the purpose was simply to quiet the road noise. I figured any additional mass I added to ANY panel was going to help me suppress unwanted harmonics. I think it helped. How much? I don't really know. I like the end product but how much could I have skipped to get to the same place? I do not know.

As far as water tight? I still have the drain plugs I can pull. I am not crossing anything that is going to get water inside though (typically less than the 30 inches to the bottom of the door). and again, I rarely take the top off... But I have a gunners hatch and my rear windows are removable.

Can you talk them into a Life subscription? I know they don’t offer it, but it’s still in their system for old subscribers. Even a hefty price of 2-3 years pays off if you keep it for next NN.

I think back in 2000, it was essentially a 3 year price single payment. To move vehicle, it’s now (recent legal case) $25 to move. I had a few moves earlier that were $250.

It’s great if you travel, same Music channels, News, Weather Briefs no matter the location.

But I wouldn’t pay the monthly endlessly.

Apple Music and SiriusXM primarily for me.
Apple Music to me is amazing, I used to build large music files on CDs, then later on USB stick. Apple Music with a quick search has 99.9% of the music searched. Hear an old song on radio, search & add to my Apple library.

Have Apple One Family through VzW, so Apple Music on all my iOS and Android devices… all sync’ed. Couldn’t be easier and simple.

Apple does have a rich sound. Much better than Spotify and IMHO it beats Tidal too.

My main source of music is a USB drive with FLAC files that I ripped myself. Though I'm 54 and kept all my CD's.

After putting a system in my last DD, I told my installer that the bass is still lacking. He turned me onto FLAC files since I was using mostly .mp3, which are compressed and have lots of loss.

He also said that most streaming services are not good for quality. We did a comparison of some of my crappy mp3 rips and then he used the Deezer music app. That's what made me dig out the CD's and an old laptop (still had a CD drive) and start ripping.
