So...
All the above is actually correct. I believe the Manual says no need to remove. But it is shop specific. I remove mine prior to seasonal changover, and anti-seize them when re-attaching.

Yeah at the end of the day, I suppose it should be based on how well the person changing the tires knows how to use a tire machine.

I’ve never had any issues leaving them on, but apparently some have.

I’ve purchased new tires or had them swapped on my bronco four times and Discount Tire was the only shop that removed the beauty rings. It is a good idea to remove them because one of the shops did damage the beauty ring a little, but I wasn’t too worried about it because they have a lot of rock rash anyway. I’ll just remove them one day and have them powder coated again.

Ugh. Discount us removing them. Stripped at least one. Minor damage to one ring i don't mind cosmetic damage but will be tough to remove damaged ones next time. They left one ring on. So if its your first time. Review with shop. Best break em loose first time yourself, i think.

Absolutely. Take to shop. Show shop. If they can't change tires with rings on, take it home. Remove rings, oil bolts, put rings and bolts in back for shop to reinstall for balancing and mounting.

Yes. They actually balanced then put rings on. I asked they said its fine but they can do it either way. They also said they take rings off and put em on all the time, not just these wheels. Because they can get damage by tire machine. So good they had experiece with em. All good. now. Will do a speed run later to verify balance. I use DT cuz they do volumee, tires are usually fresh from wharehouse, usually good wark, and road hazard, they replace tires with trail cuts. ie one of my old Ridge grapplers.

They replace trail damaged tires? Are you serious Clark? wonder if that is policy or just local shop approach.
