DIY Beauty Rings

What am I doing wrong here? I sanded it with 220 and am 3 coats in. Anyone know why it’s coming out so bad?

Testing it out on the spare and will get done by a pro if I can’t figure it out.

Sadly mine turned out poorly too when I attempted this. Ended up getting them done by a pro and 100% happy with the end results.

I’m also an impatient, non-handy person, so that was likely my issue

Yup silicone from tire shine ect. Happened to me abd I brought them to my buddys body shop

I had mine painted at a shop, they blasted it then topped with a clear coat to closer match the stock wheels.

I scuffed mine up really good before. Then did primer, sanded, 1 coat, sanded, then 2 more coats of base and sanded after each. Then 2 coats of clear coat sanding in-between. It's not perfect but it took care of what is happening in your situation.

Looks like I’ll have to have a pro do them…can you drive with them off? Considering they’re just called beauty rings I would think so but want to make sure.

Lol. I'm not retired but it was alot of work. Gave me something to do when I first got it in January since the weather was cold and snowy at the time.
