Getting ready to paint my beauty rings (considered powdercoating, but giving paint a try first. I'm pretty good with a rattle can).

Decided to look up a video or two to see if there was any issues I might run into, either removing the rings (which I will do), or color-matching the existing black wheels.

Then, I stumbled upon this video. If they're forum members, I apologize, but this is one of the cringiest How-To videos I've ever seen.
From not being able to remove the bolts/ring, to not masking off the rim(!!!) or tire, to appearing to never had used spray paint before(!!!!!!!!).

Without any prep to the ring , no way that will last and will look like total crap in a short time..

And by short time you mean the instant the paint came out of the nozzle.

It’s plastidip. Can get it off at the car wash and reapply. I have used it on emblems before and it lasted years. Power washed it off to reveal no damage when I sold the truck.

Same. I have used Plasti-Dip for years. Great product when used correctly.
But this guy can't even use a wrench or spray can, and instantly created runs.

wait so u don't hold the can one inch from what ur painting?
I like to hold it 2 inches away, and just keep the can in one spot, until I see the paint running.
That way I KNOW the paint is wet and ready to roll.
