Good morning, I've owned a 2021 Bronco 2.3cc Badlands for two years now.
Over the past two summers, I've noticed this apparent anomaly compared to other cars we have in the family.

with high temperatures outiside, with the air conditioning on, when the temperature rises above 28 degrees Celsius (83f), the radiator fan starts to spin at high speed from the moment you turn on the engine until you turn it off, making quite a loud noise and never stopping.

i checked data via forscan:
ac pressure is correct 180-200psi
engine cooling temperature is correct 190f
FAN_DSD is 0%, as the PCM does not require the coolant temperature to be lowered

but the FANDC rise from about 30% to 50/65% during all the time the engine and the AC are ON, and never STOP!

I think it does this to keep the condenser temperature low, but is it normal for it to always run fast and noisy?

I can only say that the speed of the van varies based on the outside temperature (above 80°F it always runs fast) and the car speed (over 45 mph it tends to slow down).

Let me know if anyone has had the same fan behavior and if there's anything I can check or change to stop it from running all the time!

AC on forces the electric fan on full duty cycle. This behavior can actually be useful, as the computerized e-fan is otherwise very conservative and will allow the oil to get very hot in slow, high-heat conditions.
Some cars have a separate fan for the AC, we just use the one, thus this behavior.

Although I don't understand, while following your reasoning, why the fan only turns on when the air conditioning is on,
while when it's off, the fan never starts...
If there was a problem with the oil heating at low speeds then it should start even with the air conditioning turned off, which instead never happens, not even at very high outside temperatures.

Do you think I could ask a tuner to create a tune that raises the threshold at which the fan kicks in? I should also point out that I don't use the car for serious off-roading, but mainly in the city, mostly at low speeds. And in these situations, the engine parameters are always very low.

... interesting, most people here want to run the fans more. The only way to get the fans to turn on at low speed is to turn the AC on... lol

You have the prior 2.3L motor, I have the new MPC 2.3L so here is some general info

People believe that the 2.3L motors were design to run hotter, Thermostat is 92c/197f and there is NO oil temperature sensor [computer has a calculation table]

Earlier 2.3l ecm have been cracked for outside turners, newer ones I believe are still locked.

I asked in the bronco Forscan section about this table, and got no replies.

You might need to find the threads about installing a BRaptor radiator fans on a non BR... The BR fans can just be installed w/ no wiring changes... BUT no one that I know of has figured out how to change/program their operations... that will just give you the same on/off just with more flow...

I point you there so if possible then you can reverse the programing slow/stop the fans...

Exactly, when I had my POS Cherokee I rewired the boost fan so it was on whenever the ignition was on. Still ran hot.

Interesting ford for the 5.0 mustang runs an 82c/180f one… and it fits a 2.3l May still get hot but you have a bigger headspace before getting hot.

Thermostat can't be an issue if you eliminate it. ;-)

I think the problem was actually the clutch fan. Should have replaced it with a direct drive unit.
