In the tire biz we called those outline white letters as opposed to raised white letters, which may be extinct now.

Not to get this thread back on the BFG train, but if I'd ponied up about $75.00 extra Canadian Dollars PER TIRE, the BFG K03's had full RWL. Couldn't swing it at the time, and after talking to some guys with them on their pickups, I'm better off in the snow with the Yokohamas anyway
