Picked up my 2023 Bronco today after having some recalls done and noticed it had 12 new miles on it. Dealer said it was because of Fords test drive policy, is this normal? Cause to me it feels more like a joy ride than a test drive.

And yes I added some mods myself

My special order Badlands came with 12 on the clock too. After having purchased several brand new vehicles.. have never seen one with less than a dozen or so miles.

Would you rather they assemble the vehicle and not verify that it drives properly?

Mine had 6 miles and I considered that very low for Ford. Through the ordering process, I learned there are a lot of opportunities for mileage to stack up. Ferrying from on-site and off-site storage lots, on-off trains and around other intermodal hubs before getting to the dealer. For fun, reset the Trip 2 at delivery and never touch it again. Drive it and enjoy it!

I once bought a brand new that I ordered VW Golf. I had to fly up to Redwood City (San Fran area) from LA to pick it up. Was worth the deal (apparently) as LA dealers were marking up.
Bought a one way ticket, showed up at the dealer. My brand new VW had over 80 miles on it and the sales dood actually had the ball$ to say they used it on lunch runs!
It still seemed 'ok' and I was pretty much stuck as it was my ride home.

Worst car I ever bought - everything fell apart on it within 10K miles. Electrical issues, mechanical issues, squeaks and rattles galore - even the gasket on the fuel tank failed so the cabin would be full of gas fumes!

12 miles? That's nothing. That's what I've seen on pretty much all my normal new car purchases.

Mine had atleast 30 something...it took a trip to dirt mountain and back waiting for a chip....I've heard of some coming with over 300 and a message saying your vehicle was chosen for testing (or joyriding)

Think my dad's first bronco had nearly 200 miles on it off the truck. He works at the dealership and took delivery the day it was shipped in so no nonsense from the dealer added miles.

So to clarify, because it seems as if I or others are confused, you took your 2023 into the dealer for recall work, and 12 miles were ADDED to your odometer reading? Or was this when you took delivery of your Bronco?

That's the way, I read it. I think a lot of the prior comments are in reference to the OP's title stating "at delivery" which implies taking ownership from point of sale.

Still 12 miles after having work done is no big deal. I always opt for valet service with my Bronco picked up and dropped off at my residence.

Yeah pretty sure OP edited the post. Because before it sounded a lot different

It was 12 miles added to the odometer after the recall service. Longing time lurker first time poster. My bad for the confusion.

I would be interested to know which recall require driving the vehicle after work was completed….In my case ,shock capsule, windshield sealant and seat bolt. No reason to conduct a test drive on those.
