I carry an ABC extinguisher and a fire blanket. You never know. The ABC is mounted on my tailgate molle.
You have the same fire blanket I’ve purchased… that the 4x6ft?

Have you had to use the Badlands Jack yet?

I think the ABC Dry Chemical has been the mainstay we’re all used to seeing and carrying. Becoming more aware of electronics, questions best solution. As some have indicated it’s let it burn and use Insurance, which works too! Others willingly install a pricey solution… what’s best is a personal decision and acceptance or transfer of Risk.

The ABC Dry Chem and a Shovel are the best for Campsite or brush fires hands down. And that’s most likely what most will encounter

That works at times! 👍
As I’m sure all of us carry as well, I look at Insurance as a last resort.

Let the Insurance arguments and value discussions begin…. Plus all the additional mods and adds. Finding the acceptable replacement, etc.
Not to mention the DIY hours invested.

It’s a passion to build and make it your own… Insurance rarely gets you back to same place.
Agreed. Finding a 2-door V6 would be a challenge as-is.

Consider carrying or adding a Purple K type extinguisher. Knocks down Class B like no other - won't help much at camp but might save lives on the road.
That seems better than ABC Dry, it doesn’t conduct electricity, although it’s still a Chemical application. Is the residual harmful to electronics or other inside Cab?

Was reading on it, developed by the Navy in 1959 to handle fuel & oil better. It’s been well proven to be effective then.

Cost is closer to ABC Dry Chemical too.

I did industrial safety and first responder training for about 15 years.

I went with a Purple K 2.5# at the base of my seat (Desert Does it mounts) and a 2.5 ABC at the base of the the passenger seat. Purple K is more affordable then straight halotron stuff.

I typically put the first aid kit on the back of the passenger seat. I can reach everything from the driver seat that way. Extricating yourself when your upside down with your full weight on the seat belt or whatever is worth consideration too. I do have a extrication tool within reach.

I hit my ankle a few times on the extinguisher, which wasn't fun but you learn. A starlink mini is never a bad idea either.

We were on a trip to Baja in March/April with a group of Broncos I used the jack many times there. Lucky for me it was not for myself. Yes it is the 4x6 blanket. We bought the set that came with 4 blankets. One in the house one in the travel trailer one in the garage and one in the Bronco.

I bought an overhead molle panel mainly to hold my extinguisher and a flashlight.

I like your idea of locating everything within reach from the driver's seat.

I prefer preparing for a possible worse case scenario if I can afford it and not what most will encounter.

Years ago I ran across a person whose left rear tire was on fire. Probably from an overheated brake drum. My ABC dry chemical extinguisher was useless since I couldn't spray it at the base of the flames. CO2 may have worked. I'm pretty sure a Halon or similar would have worked since they're a gas and block the combustion process.

Only other solution would have been lots of water, so maybe we should carry an extra pumper fire truck?

Great setup and good idea: Purple K and ABC, what brand / model Mount are you using to Ft of the seats to hold the bottles? Your comment of of ankle strikes is why I haven't done seat mounts, my size 15 allows minimal room to avoid bottle sticking out. But I have thought about Ft Seat mount for other items: 9mm, etc. Although I do agree, it's vey beneficial to have extinguisher within reach: Floor mount, Back of Passenger seat, upper Molly panel, etc.

The Purple K, seems popular. It's still a dry chemical? It leaves residue on area used? My understanding is it's a better alternative to ABC (no electrical conduction) but similar in media and operation? Halotron is pricey but residual free.

The addition of Tool for extraction / belt cutter is a great addition... handy to the Ft Seat.
Starlink you have mounted on roll cage or setup on ground when needed?

Your Frist Responder training; did you train local FD's and Para's ?

Which overhead Molly panel did you install? Pretty narrow to be non-obstructive?
For those... as myself looking, would you recommend or now that you have it you've seen a different model that works & mounts better?

Reason I asked... I have a few of the Badlands, but haven't used around shop since wheels don't swivel. The 3T mounted in F450.. the 2 1.5T still sitting in garage unassigned.
The Jack's flat sealed bottom is supposed to work great in sand or soft dirt and not sink as badly.

Yep... 4 pak blankets... Bronco, F450, Garage and Kitchen.

I bought the Lobo Off Road. A few of the others seem to have fitment problems. There are new ones on the market since I bought mine. Lobo Off Road just announced a StarLINK Lite bracket that''s compatible with their panel.

Some other brands have a wider cross brace.
Ford Bronco Fire Protection: Extinguishers: Dry, Halotron, CO2, Element Stick, Blankets, etc... what are you carrying? IMG_3637
