Ask that shop how much to just splice in a quiet almost stock sounding exhaust.

Afe makes a nice high clearance double muffled/resonated axle back that when added to the muffler/resonator pictured already in line behind the cat Y connection would be quiet as a church mouse and an easy DIY just laying under the back.

WTT: Want to Trade
Thanks, is that a category in the "Member's Marketplace"? I think I would need to get pictures first. I think the OP is in Las Vegas, so I'm not sure it would make sense for him because of the distance unless he can make a vacation out of it. I guess the terms of the "trade" would be I give him the exhaust and I get back the space that it's taking up and the warm fuzzy feeling you get from doing something nice? :)

The email said it was 3 hours labor, 180$ an hour. So 540 of that 1666 is labor
3 hours labor sounds excessive. It took me less than an hour to install a Borla cat back system on my Bronco. It's a simple swap since it uses the factory attachment points and hangers. You could most likely do it yourself.
x2 on finding a used system to install.
An aftermarket system can be in the $1k range for a stainless system, so their parts quote isn't too crazy.

See, I dunno if that's a lot or not? That's basically an afternoon. Sounds like he's wanting to replace your whole exhaust to the cat. I don't know enough about paying for this kind've thing to say for sure, but that seems high to me. You might get a 2nd and 3rd (itemized) quote to compare.

Ha! That’s complete BS. You’ll find them on Facebook marketplace really really cheaper free. I even gave mine away for free. And it’s an easy process! Even if you have to take it to a local mechanic, it only cost you between $100 and $200 to swap

I agree, it should be an hour labor at most. I was done in an hour in my driveway (no special tools needed) and I had to modify a Corsa bracket because my frame mounted rock rails interfered.

I recently bought a used 2024 Wildtrak 4dr. The previous owner threw on an aftermarket exhaust and I was curious on your thoughts about the quote I got. The shop told me it was going to be $1,666.34 for parts and labor. I plan on just selling the exhaust that's on there now to recoup some of the costs so it's not a real big deal, but I just want to make sure I'm not getting completely hosed.

I attached some pictures of the current setup.

To save you money, replace the muffler in your system with a quieter one.

The main reason that I changed my exhaust is that I wanted the DV8 storage compartment (https://dv8offroad.com/products/6th-gen-bronco-storage-compartment?_fid=9dd99789a&_pos=1&_ss=c) so I could have more storage space. Although it will fit with the factory exhaust, I wanted more space between the exhaust and the compartment so things wouldn't get hot. If that is something the OP might want to get in the future, it is a good time to get it now since there is better access with this exhaust in place than with the factory one installed.

Yes, it is very easy to swap out a cat-back exhaust, like the AWE that is on yours. Everything is bolt on. The hardest part is the rubber hangers. Some can be harder than others to slip the hanger in or out of those things...use some spray lube to help with that. You can swap out the entire cat-back in well under 3 hours by yourself with no lift.
