Maybe there is hope.... (Not specifically Bronco related): Carmakers need to rethink vehicles for Gen Alpha. Especially the tech

Not sure if this article is behind a paywall since I already have a subscription to the Free Press.

Essentially the article states that Gen Alpha who are just now reaching driving age are more interested in how a car looks and drives, than the technology that it has. Unlike Gen Z and Millennials before them, and how car companies may have to rethink their future product planning.

Man, the internet era is so fast I'm already nostalgic for when cars were boxes stuffed with distraction devices and the style was grocery bag core. Let's wax lyrical about the bygone days wearing pajamas to shop for groceries and white t-shirts to work in the living room. Ahh, the yesteryears of 18 months ago. I can barely recall how meh we had it!

I'd like to know how the survey was done. Did they use social media to do the polling? Did they pass out surveys in schools? The method of polling will affect results. Polling only Gen Alpha who are on social media will give a bias.

Gen Alpha members who are more active and interested in the physical world are less likely to be on social media.

I'd like to know how they did their polling and their confidence level. Finally were the questions constructed ? Were they neutral or did they have an unintended bias. There's evidence that Gen Z tend to look at cars as a means of transportation and not an end in themselves or hobby.

Ha. Show me that they want to learn to drive and actually buy MTs and I'll be a bit more convinced. 🤪

I was thinking the same. Gen Z isn’t bothering to learn to drive at all, why would Gen A care what cars are out there?

Horsecrap.
Words sold to fill a space without regard to content.
It's concern for the sake of concern.

I'm going to have to learn base bronco numbers vs nonraptor other bronco numbers.
This would say something about other generations who might not care/about options.

How can such knowledge as in that article be of any value to anyone outside of 2030 car design deciders?

Base model folk gonna base... since donkey vs horse.
Donkey here, checking in. Granted I'm 40, and almost every car I owned before the Bronco was from the 80s or 90s. I was totally uninterested in lane keep assist, auto cruise control, etc., so base it is. I like actually driving my cars, and for the most part I've only had interesting cars.
