Yeah, there is no benefit ( for water fording) to have the snorkel higher than the top of the hood. The benefit of it being at the top of the windshield or passenger window is to get cleaner air. I live down a very dusty road. And after our trip to Baja others were replacing their nasty filters and mine was only slightly dirty.
Fantastic knowing there’s actual anecdotal evidence to back up the practicality of a snorkel. Because I was (and am still) prepared to do it solely because they’re fun!

When you have the intake plate on the back, you also get some pretty decent turbo and recirc noises piped back to the cabin. That reason is very high on my personal list!

I run my intake plate so that I am sucking in cleaner air on the back side. And yes with the windows open or top off that sucker makes a glorious sound when rolling down the beach in sand mode or sport mode. My Bronco may sound like a sewing machine but the intake is at least nice.

More confirmation for my bias. I love it.

I feel you on the sewing machine. As ridiculous as such a concept it, I’ve actually thought about seeing if I could mod my ‘22 with the fake engine noises that the ‘23 and later years got so I don’t have to make them with my mouth anymore.

Removing the normal washer tank is the hard part - the Everglades bracket and tank mount in the bay and are easily accessible.
NB3Z-7D438-A and NB3Z-4091-A - Everglades tank brackets
N2DZ-17618-A - Everglades washer bottle assembly (includes pump)
I was able to scavenge some hose from my OEM washer assembly to get everything hooked up. I have yet to find the stones to cut the hole - thinking maybe that'll come when my B2B warranty expires.
Between all the different threads out there, were you ever able to nail down a finalized, unquestionable parts list for this full mod?
