I've flat towed the Bronco from the beginning, probably 10k miles of better. Never had to pull any fuses. Every once in a while it's cranky to come out of Flat Tow mode, either doesn't want to re-engage or a brake error, but wrestle with the technology long enough and I've won every time.
Ok, so we might be moving to Tennessee from the PNW. So uh, how's the wheeling down there? What kind of trails are there? Any good dispersed camping? I've never been there so any insights would be helpful. Thanks.
Being that there's finally an updated part for the bad syncro, I let Bronco go into the shop to attempt getting the laundry list of recalls and TSB's done. Well, they put the gerry-rig on the shocks and did the camera again. And supposedly getting the whole transmission replaced by Ford's...
I flat tow my Bronco a lot, and have never had a battery issue. I have the Demco Stay-n-play brake system. Torque-lift installed it, but I do believe it gets power from the tow vehicle to maintain charge.
I haven't run the factory GY non-wranglers, but in the pictures I've seen, the sidewalls look very thin. Nice for a comfy road ride and keeping the tires light, but I'd think twice about wheeling them too hard. I still have the factory BFG's, and now that they are half life, they are getting...
I like Cooper Rugged Treks or Kenda Klever RT's. I'm in the same situation, but I'm wanting to go to a 35. Factory wheels have trail rash and I haven't decided if I'm replacing them or not.
I had gotten the update, and was bummed about losing the rolling rocks startup. Even worse was my two year old was mad about losing it as she always watched it while I'm buckling her in. Then, yesterday, while buckling her in like always, she was pointing and saying "horsey back! horsey back!"...
Maybe, and yes, I have the advanced T-case, but I can tell you that the T-case has never been engaged after towing. It certainly has been a pain to get it out of neutral and re-engaged though. I wish I could've still just had a effin' T-case lever, and don't get me started on the electronic...
Thanks, I've seen those, I'm talking more along the lines of improved cladding that can take a true tree rub on a corner in a snow tree well with no damage. I have the clear healing ppf, which has worked awesome so far - pinstripes on trail day and shiny and new looking as soon as the sun or...
Yes, I find these Ford door graphics laughable and sub-par. Our RV with the F-600 is the same way. Every other modern vehicle I've ever owned the little graphic would show which door was open.
Our set-up has been working fantastic, no complaints for the 6-7k we've towed it so far. Just be sure to get the off-road adapter to fit your mounts, PAR-035 is the one for a 3/4" shackle. Remember you'll still need somewhere on the Bronco to hook up your safety chains too.
No Problems, I run a Thule cargo box on top for skiing in the winter, and never give it a second thought. Now my '72 first gen, sketchy at times, and my wife's jk 4-door with a 2"/1" level always felt like I've had a few on a calm day. Get the two door, you won't regret it.
So, what options are out there for a mild lift (say 2") for the non-squatched badlands? My Bronco is my daily driver, and I'm still putting a toddler in the car seat, so going big isn't on the table yet. Everything I see is for the other trims, 4 door only, or squatch only. I'll be putting 35's...
