I am glad to hear you are having success. I also put my hub in the middle of the bed (I am 36 feet DP). Keep an eye on that battery voltage.
Personally, and sadly because it's why I bought the Bronco, I don't trust the car after my transmission failure. I am going to switch teams to bowtie as...
You can buy mine. :) Already set up and ready to go with a brand new transmission. Heh.
I guess I should further clarify that this is was not a temporary low voltage situation. This happened after "about" 125 miles of flat towing and the voltage stayed low. The mistake I made was not further...
That is is interesting.
I have flat towed this Bronco behind a smaller Super-B van on a few occasions (call it 4) for shorter distances (say, less then 100 at a time) and it was fine except for the Brake light staying on that would always reset after a short drive.
That's not to say mine...
Bronco was just delivered.
RVI works fine and pumps juice. Attaching my work order, so you can see that they did an entire swap.
The above is pretty much like it was the entire trip, until the battery voltage started to drop despite the charge amps being the same.
The service manager told me that he was not going to report it as happening as a result of flat towing. They were great people to deal with at Lake Powell Ford, in Page AZ. I am from Los Angeles, you never get that kind of service here.
I couldn't say what he actually said to them, or not. When...
I have watched the indicator lights. All was green (and blue for RVI)
The RVI monitor/table5 (not a phone) clearly showed voltage going in.
RVI Command Center
I clearly remember looking at the voltage from the battery side and watching it slowly drop below 12 and specifically checking to see...
I do. I have the RVI towed battery charger and the (Android-based screen) to monitor battery, tire presesure, and braking system.
For at least 200 miles, the RVI was putting in 12+ volts into the battery and the draw was far less and the battery was maintained.
Somewhere in the last 100, the...
Add me to the list of people with a failed transmission after flat towing a mere 300 miles. I did everything by the book, including several shorter test runs.
2022 Badlands Sasquatch, 2.3L
Ford covered under-warranty, but now I don't know if I can trust it. I bought this thing because it...
Man. Feel bad for you guys just waiting and waiting and waiting and not getting much except a work-around. I have the smaller engine which I didn't want, but that's what I could get, and I have never been happier I couldn't get what I wanted because like some of you --being able to flat-tow the...
Rotopax and overlanding bag. Because when you are stuck in LA traffic the threat of running out of water, or fuel, or needing to collect car or body parts from the freeway is real.
I experienced the same exact thing doing a flat tow test with the 2.3 over the weekend and using the RVI brake.
I came over here to see if I should be worried and the very first post I found was PBryan saying what I think is the same thing.
In my case, after doing a little practice...
Clearbra, Heretic Studio lightbar and fogs (hi guys!), and set-up for flat towing behind a motorhome with a combination of Roadmaster, Blue Ox, and RVi tow bar, wiring, and supplemental braking. and battery keeper.
Other than the above, the Bronco is a stock Badlands Sasquatch purchased...
Welcome to the "I might feel bad for requiring some people to have a plan B" club. While we are certainly not the founding members, we are amongst the first to admit it.
I am also a former Rubicon Gladiator owner turned Bronco Badlands Sasquatch owner. I tried to give the Gladiator a fair shot at being an often, but not totally, daily driver alternating between that and a sedan.
I had it for less than 8 months and really did not like how uncomfortable it was...
