It seems to not be a white top, but an off white or cream (from the photo) so I'd say no door handle colors. If you want more, maybe a thin pin stripe at the belt line. Its What I did.
I highly recommend. If you get the Skyrider, get the upgraded twill fabric. It's 3 ply, quieter, looks nicer. Had mine 8 months now. High quality, most issues seem to be from install mistakes, especially the two cable tension T-inserts at the back. Its nice to keep the hardtop rear shell...
1. I mean that, before I got the Skyrider, I used three x long bungee cords to place the midpanel on the half-rack while I was riding on the beach. The front panels stored behind the front seats ( no rear passenger).
2. For the PakRak (side saddles) you do have to take the rear cap off, install...
The main downside of the Skyrider is the noise. The faster you go, the more buffeting there is. It also let's in much more road & tire noise, at all speeds, compared to the MIC top. It 2x noisier than MIC, at least, on the highway. But on the beach, or around town, it's great! And, properly...
Nice to have that option. Would like to see pics of the panels removed. From your photos, there are some visual alignment issues, but if it's dry, the gaskets must work. About how much did this cost you?
Here's the open top and the open glass. I like the set-up for my beach & general use, the back is fully accessible and protected with the MIC cap. If you don't have the TrailRax half-rack, your skyrider will lay down more. In yesterday's day of rainy travel, no leaks whatsoever. But the softtop...
My Moulded In Color top is a high quality piece that has held up well over 2.5 years and 49,000 miles. Certainly worth the OEM price in 2021 of $695, and well worth the current $1,895 price for 2024 models. The defective ones get alot of coverage on the forums, but there are many of us satisfied...
Very nice! Lots of people will be looking for these. I wonder if the Bestop Sunrider will fit in the ftont opening. But the lack of extra panels seems to make it quieter? How many $ was this?
I have the Twill. Its a superior product. Remember, sun exposed fabric will wear out, so better is worth $. The black diamond is an acrylic/cotton, 2 layer. Twil 3 layer, acrylic/rubber/polyester. Thicker, better insulation. Link: https://www.bestop.com/soft-top-material-comparison/
I have the Twill Skyrider, and I really dont notice the Color difference. It may not be as bad as you anticipate, once you start using it. I'm very pleased with the product.
I have the Skyrider from Besttop. It replaces the middle and front row panels on the 4dr. Its a quality product, works well. Even better, it lets me keep the rear cap on, while having the open air experience. So I have better access and security, and can keep a rear roof rack on, with its side...
For the greater 6g good, the best test would be to try that rack with a Skyrider, and see if the rack keeps the softtop from lying down. It would seem that that rack with a Yakima basket would be even worse than the TrailRax half-rack! But trying is knowing!
@TrailRax you might look at making...
The extra height isn't functionally a problem, but it is a bit high. When it warms up, I plan to make a couple of notches in the front corners of the rack, and see how much that lays it down, for the greater good, and all that!
Full prepay for a product not yet available is worrisome. Despite all the complaints about Ford's MIC top, maybe its harder to make a better replacement top than realized, for the $6,000. Maybe the OEM $895 or $1,895 top isn't such a bad thing after all!
If I lived in CA and had "bought" a AFC...
That looks like a nice rack as well, and at $289 an easy buy. It does more like a car rack, you'd have to try it to see. It's only the one tie rod that prevents fuller lay-down with the TrailRax, and I could cut out some metal. Too bad these companies don't try the cross-mfgr fitment trials for...
Sounds good! That's why i didn't pay someone to install, I wanted to be able to do the reverse. Good to know its pretty easy. Here in Charleston, SC, I'm not sure what my Softtop season is going to be! My current plan is to put the hardtop back on for the Summer, its too hot for open top!
