Hey y’all—following up on my previous review of the @WolfBox G900 Pro, I’ve had the chance to install and run the new Wolfbox G900 Tri Pro on my Bronco, and I’ve got some thoughts.

The big upgrade here? A third camera for the bumper to provide the missing front view Bronco owners without the High or Lux package know all too well.

Ford Bronco Wolfbox G900 Tri Pro Mirror Dash Cam - Install & Review: Is The Front Bumper 3rd Camera Worth It? Screenshot_20250615_234357_Gallery

Install & Setup
Install was mostly plug-and-play like the G900 Pro, but this time I ran the additional wiring for the bumper cam. I mounted mine right above the bumper. Install time was about an hour, and everything you need comes in the box.

Real-World Use
Here’s where this thing shines: If you’ve ever hit a steep climb and all you could see was hood, you know how sketchy that can be. The third cam gives you that low-angle view you’ve been missing. On the trails, perfect for spotting rocks, ruts, or trail drop-offs before you find them the hard way.

I’ve already put it to use on several trail rides and felt way more confident, especially for situations that got hairy fast.

Video Quality
Front camera (in-mirror): 4K
Rear camera: 2.5K
Bumper/front-facing cam: 1080p

The bumper cam’s 1080p resolution is adequate. Not ultra-crisp, but totally functional. One thing I did notice: night vision is better on the Tri Pro vs. the G900 Pro. That was my main complaint with the Pro, and while a firmware update helped at model, this new unit is clearly tuned better out of the box.

G900 Pro vs. Tri Pro
If you’re happy with your G900 Pro and don’t spend much time off-road, you're good. But if you want true three-camera coverage, especially a low front view for trail work, the Tri Pro is a no-brainer upgrade. For those of us without the High/Lux package and no factory front cam, this unit fills a critical gap.

Where to Buy: Wolfbox G900 Tri Pro - 3 Channel Mirror Cam

Wolfbox.com:https://wolfbox.com/products/wolfbox-g900tripro-cabin-version-3-channel-dash-camera?ref=RustysBronco

Amazon.com: https://amzn.to/3ZXfB8z

Use promo code rustysbronco at checkout to save a few bucks. But FYI—if Wolfbox has a better promo running, take that instead. Save your cash for more mods.

Final Thoughts
If you’ve already got the G900 Pro and feel covered, no pressure. But if you’re building a trail-ready rig and want better awareness and visibility where it counts, the third cam might be one of the most useful upgrades you haven’t added yet.

How is the rearview mirror cam, with the changed settings? I've always wanted a digital rearview, tire gets in the way, luggage, etc. But the first shots I saw when the original came out look fairly useless at night, with glare and the high contrast 😔

Also, most other cams drop the front 4K recording down to 2K if a 2nd cam is attached. Does this keep 4K with the rearview cam attached. too?

TIA 😊

All questions covered in the YouTube vid and some in the write up above. Also, you'll be able to see the front cam footage and rear cam night footage first handed on the YT. 🙂

To sum it up, the G900 Tri has an updated rear sensor, compared to the G900 Pro 2 camera model. And presumably the front camera doesn't turn off at 1-MPH like the 360 cam option does :teehee: I may pick one up after bonus season is over.

With the USB style connector on the rear cam, I'm guessing @WolfBox made the rear cam have a dedicated power source. With that, better ability to pick up in low light situations.

I did go ahead and order from Wolfbox directly, discounted $350 with the hardwire kit out the door was too good a percent% discount to pass up. If you hear someone yelling next week, that's probably me trying to cram 4 doors worth of wiring into a 2 door setup

I have a coil under the hood and another under the driver's rear side panels.

Installed this today, couple things I would like:
-Voice control doesn’t work for the bumper cam
-Can’t customize the view to show any 2 of the three cameras
-Lag, there is some noticeable lag with the rear cam, most ppl likely won’t’ notice.
-GPS speed is also delayed, doesn’t quite match up to speedometer with constant varying speeds.
-Would be nice is you could see GPS coordinates as an option on the screen.
-if you have wifi hotspot whether through Starlink or hotspot, it would be great if you could connect remotely—like a true Sentry mode

What I like:
-I can finally see the rear view, it is quite nice, can’t compare it to previous models but way better than stock rear cam
-Easy to use, voice commands work for front/rear
-Quality cameras so far
-App seems to work well to connect
-Install was very easy, thanks to members posting where to plug in hardwires.
-Was able to use the license plate bracket right along the center of the spare thanis to DD rear-light bracket which happened to be an exact match distance wise.
-I ran the rear camera wiring along the passenger side floor, through the swing gate and out the center flaps through the center of the spare. (Yes care needed to remove the spare, but I already have lights there).
-Seems like the bumper cam will help quite a bit on the trails, as another angle view or when I am just in 2H, which is more common.

Hey @RustysBronco I have a question, how does the mirror work with the visors? I was looking at the Wolfbox last night and then looked at my visors this morning and it looks like they'd hit every time you lower the visor. Tried to skim through your video to see if you noted that or not but couldn't find anything on it.

Thanks for the question. So with the mount that replaces the rear view mirror, you'd have a minor issue with it hitting the visor. If you go with the install method that uses Wolfbox's glorified rubber bands to hold it against your factory mirror, I believe that will give you more issues.

Yeah that's what I was staring at was using the rubber bands, until seeing your video I didn't even know they had a new mount option. Thanks.
