2023 Black Diamond Retro Build Transformation

I recently stopped by my local Ford dealer to inquire about any 2-door Broncos they may have for sale. As luck would have it, a couple in their 80’s had just traded in their 2023 Black Diamond with under 2000 miles on the odometer. It looked brand new and the price was right.

This is my second Bronco. I keep my other Bronco, a 2023 Race Red OBX, up north for the winter. Here are some pics of the two Broncos that I have “Retroed”. The wheels on the Area 51 Black Diamond are 17 X 9 Mickey Thompson Canyon wheels with 0 offset. I’m running the factory 265/70/17 General tires on them for now. Poke has increased by about an inch. Love these Broncos!

Cool. Do you mind me asking what did you use? I’m preparing an overhaul on my garage and pole barn and wanted to get materials soon.

I also have the MT Canyons on my Bronco. If you wanted to minimize the additional poke, you might try to source a set of slightly wider Sasquatch fender flares to swap onto it.

Mine came with the wider flares (Heritage squarish) and its a good match for the wider offset of the wheels.

I believe I got it from Racedeck.com. They offer multiple types. I went with the rubberized tile.

I would love to run some M/Ts on my Stroppe, but not untill they are available in the correct offset (+30). Looking good!

I'm curious about the German car flags in your garage. Any car pics you'd care to share? I'm a huge fan of old German cars (and some new ones too)

My problem is that I love all old cars. I started out with C1 and C2 Corvettes, Gen 1 Mustangs and Shelby’s, and then got into W113 Mercedes and Porsches. It’s a sickness that I passed down to my son and my oldest grandson. I bought the 56 F100 from the original owner about 16 years ago. 29K original miles. Still retains the completely original interior. Very lucky find.
