Hey guys we're working with our friends at Optima and The Experience to put on another guided "Chase the Race" experience during the Trophy Truck race at KOH, and we'd love to have you join us if you're interested! There is a cost involved but it's a curated experience with some high value perks. Here's the quick blurb on it:

Ford Bronco Chase The Race at KOH with Lobo Off-Road and friends event_banner_1767253098b9a927c0f3
Experience high octane desert racing like never before, as you join a hardy group of off-road enthusiasts to hit the trails of Johnson Valley while "chasing" California's toughest off-road race. You're the driver, so bring your own 4X4 and a full tank of gas. We'll provide the rest for an immersive, day-long guided excursion, Powered by OPTIMA and supported by trusted Off-Road and Desert Racing professionals.

We've been involved in this run in the past and it's a blast. There's a simple web page set up for it HERE that clicks through the ticketing page where you can register. Note that this takes place on Sunday, February 1, the Sunday at the beginning of KOH week, but your event ticket includes a KOH pass that gets you in to all of the KOH events for the entire rest of the week. If you have any other questions about it let me know! Oh and here are a couple of pics from the last time we did this.

Should be a good event. I know the team at the Experience has taken their knowledge of events and what I have learned from the first sparky rally and have applied it to this one. Looking forward to it and maybe some other later on this year!!

Awesome. You had some sweet Bronco's there last time. It was cool meeting Shelby Hall again and getting the VIP Optima treatment.

Forgive the novice questions, but I suddenly find myself with a lot of free time and an early retirement, and would be interesting in attending this.

What's the dispersed camping look like for this area if I wanted to sign up and join in the fun?

For reference, 25 Bronco Badlands, 33" wheels.

Folks do go off into the desert and disperse camp. I have not done that myself but I assume you at least need the KOH entry fee paid. I don't know current attendance but its North of 50,000 So you will be driving for a bit

Bronco Nation does have their own camp area. Last year it was right by Hammertown. It has its own all inclusive cost.

There is a Overlanding Area a few miles away from everyone as well. They do charge for that I believe. Ill be around the Lobo event and the Canyon Coolers booth at Hammertown if you want to go out for a ride.

You can dispersed camp just about anywhere on BLM land, which covers most of the area around KOH and Hammertown. KOH has a special use permit during the event where they can charge for entry, but that only applies to Hammertown itself and a few designated spectating areas around the course. As for this run specifically that we are talking about in this thread, if you are set up for overlanding or camping out of your rig (no separate tow rig or RV), you could simply camp in the desert near Slash X where the run begins, then camp somewhere near The Forty (close to Hammertown) where the run ends or simply head home after the run if your schedule requires that (its on a Sunday). Also note that this run is early in the KOH schedule, taking place the weekend before the main KOH Ultra4 race, so it will be a little bit easier to find a spot to camp for the night in the Boone Road area outside of Hammertown. Also note that your ticket for this run includes a KOH pass that's good for the duration of the KOH festivities, not just the one day of this run.

Dusty, thanks that what I thought. Appreciate the clarification, since I am set up to camp with just my Bronco this makes logistics a lot easier.
