That would have been pretty badass. A lot of people made Lightning Bronco swaps with the earlier versions.

I once heard a story about the lightening from a family friend that worked at Ford. The original concept was a 4x4 much like the Raptor of today. Lightening was not the original name of the project. The design team used inspiration from baja race trucks. Oversize tires, larger fenders, off road lights to give the look and style. Upper management didn't bite on the 4x4 concept, complications with making it 50 state legal, 60 minutes rolling over Samurai's, bad taste in public eye of lifted vehicles, and instead changed the plan to a lowered vehicle. The original pre 96' baja concept truck was modified to be a 2wd lowered sport truck.

I don't know how true the story is, no proof other than a conversation many, many years ago.

I friggen LOVE AMC Eagles.

They're cheap AF too. Even for a really nice one.

The interiors are AMAZINGLY bad and awesome.
