Like I said I read in a thread here and I can't find it now but he was mentioning the clamshell.
Right, and like I said, multiple people, including someone on this thread, say otherwise. I have not personally seen anyone say that, but admit I don't know because I've fortunately not had to test that out.

Like I said I read in a thread here and I can't find it now but he was mentioning the clamshell. Anyway my point it make sure you ask your dealer if you're replacing the clamshell if this is the only replacement.
Although... Supposedly Ford is losing their ass on warranties and recalls, so it's entirely possible they've sneakily changed what they'll cover. However, until I hear that from Ford directly, if it were to happen to me, I'd not take the dealer's word for it if they were the source of a "denial".

Forgive my ignorance. What is the snakeskin problem?

I got rid of my hard top and got the armadillo one for this reason exactly. My wife thought I was crazy for getting rid of my semi-functioning hard top. Threads like this make me sad to see, but justified.

I’ve had the Armadillo top for about 4 months now and I would never go back. It’s much sturdier, quieter, more modular, etc. the biggest downside is the wait time
How long did you wait for yours and what is it made out of? Thank you!

The underlying cardboard honeycomb will appear through the outer MIC layer that isn't thick enough. A few posts above there is a picture of a borderline case of snakeskin. IMO, that really doesn't equate to what others who have had the issue.

Here's a better pic, it looks like a honeycomb or snake ski not smooth like the clam shell is.

Again, that is a borderline case. It's not that bad. It certainly isn't perfect. But there have been instances where it was much more pronounced.

If it was mine, I wouldn't worry about it. It is the "luck of the draw" whether you get an acceptable replacement. Some say you shouldn't settle. But there is always the chance that the replacement panel won't match the other sections. There is no warranty claim because the blacks don't match. It will just look like sh!t from a greater distance.

And then there is the issue of the headliner. Installed from the factory vs. the service tech with left-handed scissors practicing arts and crafts.

I'm not sure if this is true but I read somewhere on here you only get one top replacement per Bronco.
I can assure you, that isn’t accurate. If a dealership tells you that, I would contact Ford directly.

Yes agreed that's why I said above I'm not going to do anything unless some cracks start. The pics don't show it well it's about 35% worse than the pics, the clamshell is smooth with zero snakeskinning.

My top is bubbling on the rear clamshell. But my lift is such that I can't see the top unless I'm on a step stool. Unless cracks develop, I'm in no hurry to jump through the hoops for a warranty replacement. My top is quiet compared to my '22 BD and the headliner is much improved. The replacement might correct the bubbling issue, but it could be worse with not matching, janky headliner, and being louder compared to what I have now. Bird in the hand...

This was the problem with my '23, I had 3 bubbles 4 inches long on the driver side on top above the rear window but I could see them. They hadn't broken through but definitely had separated so I was gathering all the top replacement info I could!

You should have lifted your Bronco. Then you wouldn't had seen them. 🙃

Ford Bronco 2 Door Hardtop Replacement Options? IMG_4002
The Armadillo top… I received mine last month. I Patiently waited for all the development and tweaks. Totally amazed by the quality inside and out. Mine is a 4 door but you will not be disappointed with the craftsmanship and quality. Solid. Beyond belief.

I’m not a great example of timeline because I helped with the R&D for the Braptor so I waited about a year. The lead times right now are 12-16 weeks but are potentially going down as they secure funding to build up an inventory.

Armadillo does not yet make a 2 door option.

If I had to replace my hardtop outside of warranty, I'd go for the Bestop softop instead.
