Hi all,

Just purchased a used 2021 Badlands. The Bronco was built by a shop by the previous owner. It has the 4WP performance suspension system, front and rear bumpers, sliders, wench, and lighting. It’s the 2.3L 7 speed. I’ve had the chance to wheel on a couple trails in Southern California already and am enjoying it and learning the vehicle. Coming from a F150 on 33’s, the Bronco has been very fun to drive on the trails. Been watching and reading the community since I’ve been looking at getting into a Bronco for a while.
Thanks and look forward to all the help.

What engine do you have in the F150? I’m going to order a 2025 badlands sas and wondering if the 2.3 is enough I have a 2019 F150 with the 2.7 and love it 120k on it

It’s not like you have much of a choice. If you are talking about the more door, the automatic is the 2.7 and the manual is the 2.3 engine. The difference between the two is $1,500 (because they charge you more for a manual adding the Sasquatch package).

The 2.3 is enough, but it's also paired to the manual transmission, which helps reduce power losses and offers the best low end crawl ratio. Aa much as I love manual transmissions, for off-roading the Bronco I prefer the 10 speed automatic with the 2.7 Ecoboost. The automatic offers additional functionality off-road and has been excellent both on and off-road for me. The 2.7 has a lot more low end torque compared to the 2.3 Ecoboost engine.

The bigger question is why would you even order the Sasquatch package in the first place on the Badlands? It isn't worth it generally.

The 7mt equipped Badlands gets 4.7 gears as well. That's how we get that rad crawl ratio.

Welcome & Congrats on the new ride @rswannie 🤠

The 2.7 has a lot more low end torque compared to the 2.3 Ecoboost engine.
Yep, the power delivery of the engines are diffenent. The 2.3 needs to spool up & takes longer to build up torque. Low end torque is what it's all about

Actually you get that "rad crawl ratio" from the 6.58 crawler gear & the final drive of 4.7 helps magnify it

I special ordered the F-150 with the 5.0. I wanted the V8 with the 3.73 gear ratio. Dealers didn't stock those as it will get the worse gas milage for the trucks. I love the 5.0 and 3.73 gear ratio for the 33" tires. The F-150 is a 2016 so it's only the 6 speed auto.

I was worried about going from the 5.0 to the 2.3 in the bronco, especially with the 37" tires. But I must say, the bronco drives great! It's not going to win any race off the line, but it's perfect for the trails and does 75 on the freeway no problem. Plus I still have the F-150 for when I want more power!

Yeah I wanted a 3.73 with my F150 but bought a used 2019 with 100k on it has 3.55 and the 2.7 it’s not a heavy hauler but it’s fast as a bullet. Got a 2012 F350 for hauling heavy loads I think I’ll end up getting a 2.7 auto badlands

You like manual ? 2.3 .. otherwise 2.7. Really like 2,7 in my 2023 Heritage Limited ! Like the SAS and Badland suspension and engine exhaust sounds pretty nice. Previous Heritage was not as good sound even though 2.7 and also had Big Bend Suspension with SAS.

I do like the manual transmission but it will be my wife daily driver so 2.7 auto it is. definitely BL with possibly Sasquatch package , definitely Lux package, power seats, black appearance package. Exterior color shadow black tow hitch I want the modular bumper but don’t want to lose the fog lights switch and wiring so many change it later on to retain the switch and wiring. The Bronco will be pretty much loaded and on the build site is a tad over $70,000
