So my Bronco was unfortunately one of the “deleted” builds with no amp or sub.

I am in talks of buying an OEM amp and sub from another Bronco. Will the amp and sub be plug and play? Or will I need to run more wiring if I did this.
I understand I will likely need to make some ForScan modification, but today really just curious on how much or little work will be required hardware wise.

thanks!

Broncos shipped with the sub delete option (noted on window sticker) have all the wiring preinstalled. If you are buying components from a Bronco that had a functional sub with the same audio option as yours (Lux/B&O is different than standard) then they are totally plug compatible.

My non-B&O Bronco is in the same sub-delete situation. I'll probably need to run a larger diameter power wire to my chosen amp, rather than use any pre-installed power wire option. In that case, is there any reason not to locate my new amp under the dash? That way I would have a shorter power wire and easier access to the amp if needed. Assuming I could find the subwoofer audio output wire under the dash to connect to the amp.

I did exactly that.

Crutchfield (and others) sell a harness pigtail that plugs right into the ACM and lets you easily split out all the various signal wires. It goes behind the HVAC panel. I used the rear pods into my sub as speaker level inputs with a low pass filter rather than using the sub out signal. (It also helped that I used a 5-channel amp and it kinda had this built in)

All the wiring is there on the sub delete models but you need to turn the subwoofer on in Forscan if you want to use the factory wiring for it.
